I need some help deciding,super bee hood

I have to opportunity to buy a complete setup for my new bee project.Its a ramcharger dual snorkle hood complete with the air cleaner and dash cable.Its spendy though at 1400 bucks and probably 250 to ship.I am torn to change to a hood that the car wasnt optioned for and paying that much or go use the original bulge hood.Some opinons please.

I have ALWAYS liked the scooped hood over the Ramcharger hood, WAY cooler looking! Keep the hood, forget about the Ramcharger, leave it for someone who needs one.

Even if my car was coded for N96, I would still put a scooped Bee hood anyday! To me, the 70 Coronet is ugly enough and the Ramcharger hood looks dumb, BUT a Superbee with the scoop IS a muscle car...

Well i made a managment decision,lol.After talking to Fedex Freight,it was going to be more than 500 to ship and I didnt want to pay that much for a hood that didnt come orginal to the car(I would have paid thru the nose for it it i was missing it and it was an N96 car)
2K is just too much money for me for a non orginal hood.The non orginal hood on the car was hacked up underside but snorkles are excellent.I found out the original Bulge hood is gone,but they should have a dozen at spring fling next year,lol,i'll get one there.So in the mean time I went to a local wrecking yard and bought a flat 69 coronet hood in good condition for 175 bucks.I'll put the snorkles on that hood and have a non working ram air hood,which is fine since the car didnt come with it anyway and I really just wanted the look.My way of thinking is now I can have the snorkle looking hood,buy a 6 pack hood and buy a bulge hood for less than half the price of the ramair hood and have all three to change when i want,it will free up more cash for my Cuda project and speed the bee up too.I think i made the right decision.Opinons?

Original since its a numbers car,thats why I was second thinking paying that much for a n96 hood,but i like the scoops.I dont mind having a couple of non original bolt ons like the hood but everything esle with be original,excluding the numbers motor,which will be bagged and anohter built 383 in its place to save the original from being destoyed.My barracuda gran coupe is being done the same way,it came with a flat hood but a Cuda hood is being painted now with other stuff and the flat hood is in storage.

Well, you made the decision that's right for you.  I'd have tried to get the Ramcharger hood but I like them so that's just me.

I would have liked it too,but no one will know until i lift the hood that it doesnt have the ram air,the outside wil lok the same

I remember 12 years ago when I had a mint complete one for $700. Some clown said to much. Thing is that included the whole car (minus drivetrain). Another guy said it was a steel & was all over it. LEON.

Ya dont you wish you still had ten of them?Everyone keeps telling me to buy it,I am still on the fence,the seller is asking me what i am doing?I could take back the flat hood but 2k is a ton of money for a hood to me

Price sounds kinda steep to me, Especially if it needs work. Add a few hundred more for Paint & Body work, Maybe more if you want to strip/media blast? LEON.

Ya tell me,I paid that for most of my cars,except the Bee,well if i take in to account the trading i did,it cost me 2700 and my barracuda gran coupe cost me 2600,its 1425.00 for the hood and the rest is shipping.I'm glad to finally hear from someone that thinks its too much too,lol.But when your spending others peoples money......,lol

Ok and yes i am wishy washy:)I told the seller i would buy the ramair setup since i got a better shipping quote of 250 bucks.My questions is what do people think.Will my car be worth more restored with the orginal bulge hood or with the non original N96 setup?Would anyone really care the car wasnt optioned with that hood and just as long as it has one?

We live in an era where clones bring more than original cars if they have a "cool" color and better options.  Most of the Mopar buying frenzy is not being driven by "real" collectors (I'll let you decide for yourself how to define that) but more so by cash surplus fad buyers.  Options can make all the difference.

I agree to a point,its not like i am turning a coronet into a superbee,it already is one.I am sure If i change the hood back to original bulge i wouldnt have any problem sellling the ramair in a few years for more money.Thanks Ghost,the 1700 for the hood and shipping is just still hard to swallow

I agree and don't let me talk you into it based on what I'd do.  1700 is a lot to pay for a hood, even a Ramcharger.
