Ok, we have got some great history of how we all got into Mopars...now how many of our kids are catching the mopar or cool car bug? My three year old is plain infatuated with my charger, my oldest which is 16 from a prior marriage goes to tons of car shows with me and is into cars..my four year old gets pretty protective over the general and I think on certain days he would fight the older one for it! :icon_smile_blackeye: My middle son could care less about cars which is ok...sometimes makes it hard when we want to do car related stuff and he is bored off his ass. How about you guys, I always thought it would have been cool to have a daughter that was a mopar junkie as long as she still acted like a female too.  :icon_smile_wink:

My son will be 5 in a few months and loves old cars. Hes good at pointing them out even when its some plain jane beater. He likes going to the shows with me and is really into drag racing. I took him to the track about a dozen times over the summer and he enjoyed it alot. He loves dragsters more than anything and has an autographed poster of Shirley Muldowney in his room. He already has all kinds of plans for my charger down the road. My daughter will be 2 next week and shes already showing possible gearhead signs as well.

My son will be 5 in January and he already owns his first Mopar!  The funny thing is, I didn't buy it for him!  He was hanging out with me at a local car show and making conversation with a guy I knew.  A few days later, a rollback shows up in the driveway carrying a 1970 Sport Satellite.  He GAVE the car to my son and wouldn't even let me pay for the tow!

He said that he could see that the boy was really into cars and we're all Mopar nuts.  It was one of those "I'm going to fix her up one day" projects that he felt needed a good home with someone that could appreciate it.

I'm still floored over it but I'm really looking forward to fixing it up.  I already bought the scoops for it from a member here on the board and a "go-wing" off eBay as early Christmas presents  :icon_smile_approve:

As for what my son thinks about it, well, he has made it perfectly clear that he likes it right where it is, in the garage next to my Charger, and, NO, its not for sale!  LOL!!

That is a very cool story! I dig the pic..he's proud as punch ;D

My son is now 8yrs old & loves Mopars as well as most old cars. Whenever he stays with my mom they go out shopping & when I pick him up he always suprises me with a Hotwheels or someting that he thinks I'll like. Were getting quite the collection of cars in the house.Last week he got me a Road Runner..Lime green. He is very interested in the 68 Charger R/T Resto & constanly wants to know if I'll let him drive the Magnum when he's old enough to drive(I know its a new Mopar but it sounds & looks mean).

cool stories. i have no kids but there are 4 or 5 that live in the building next door. i was pulling the r/t out and they started yelling american muscle , american muscle. i guess they saw the fast and the furious.  i laughed. a week later one of them came up to me and said , we never road in an american muscle car . i asked there parents if it was aright, they said sure . i rode them around for about 1/2 hour . now there hooked . they all got diecast mopars and remote control mopars. it's real cool. i promised them for christmas i'd take them for a ride again weather permitting.
that move , the fast and the furious really helped our hobby and the charger name. Rene

That is simply awesome guys..especially the guy giving your son a real car!! Totally cool!! My thoughts are if you get a kid into cars when they are young, then they will hopefully be constructive with their life rather than the overwhelming amount of lazy kids out there that turn into lazy drug addicted adults. The car hobby stays with you as lifetime and is rewarding I think. Usually fun for the whole family too...

My daughter who is 2 love riding in my 68 Charger.  She has a car already too.  A 63 Valiant convertible which daddy and her are going to fix up. She likes to hold the light when I work on my cars.  She loves my jeep cj7 also.

I wish my daughter had even a slight interest in my charger or even any mopar for tha matter but a las. no such luck. I try not to force my opinion on her about what she should like or dislike becasue I've seem my own fater do that to me with things and have found myself doing just the opposite just out of spite at that age. She's knows what I think of my classic car and I just hope that some day when she is mature enough to understand why I feel the way I do that she may grow to appreciate the car I some day will most definately pass on to her.
Peace.
