Need a photo shop of a '69 Daytona. Top half black, and from hardline where top of fenders meet the side red lower half w/a white tail stripe. Magnum rims also if possible. Now don't go a hatin' me for what I'm asking here. I'm not trying to be like Chip Foose, just comparing paint jobs right now for my clone.
Thanks Mark

Thanks Dave for the comment anyways.......

I'd help you, but you could probably find any 1 year old and give them a picture of a daytona and 2 color crayons and have it turn out better than mine.  :icon_smile_big:

and dont ask what Dave what he means. He's from commiefornia. they never make sense. haha

I think Strato is talking about Plum500.

He's done many high quality mock-ups.

I'd try it, but my PS skills are kinda BS. :D

Here ya go.   ;)

I...don't really know how I feel about it.  My recommendation is that if you are looking for a "custom" look with the red/black, then lose the tail stripe or ghost it somehow.  Too many colors competing can be a bad thing.  You'll notice that's why Foose always has a third "detail" color. (i.e. grey top, orange bottom, with like a blue pinstripe).  The third color compliments and finishes, but never competes with the two dominant colors.  He ALWAYS does that... :-\  Two tone, third color detail....

Hope this helps you visualize better.  Good luck. ;)

...and here's your "Foosed" version. :P

Complete with shaved door handles, turn signals, etc...

Personally - not my thing.  But if you were wondering what it would look like - this is my best guess.

ds440. Thanks for the photo shop. I like the second photo best. True, the first three color version is to much. I am still working on our set up photo shop also, just installed it last night and played around with photos, kept getting these weird lines moving around is all.

I like the second as well but a bright white horizontal stripe seperating the red and black might work as well.

No problem.  It only takes a few minutes to "Foose" a car....in photoshop anyway. :P  BTW that'll be $100,000 "design time." :yesnod:  :icon_smile_tongue:

All you have to do is follow the formula ({2xcolor + 1xthird color} minus sidelights minus door handles / pi = Foose.  Oh, and then throw in a new crate hemi.

dS 440 , is there any way you could use the photo shop for me . I am going to my  paint my daytona  HOUSE OF COLORS SUNSET ORANGE PEARL, with a white wing . It would be greatly appreciated if you could do this for me .

Larry, that would/will look sweet. I'd like to see a photo shop of it as well here. I'm still working with my set up here. Wife told me have at the computer and see what I come up with, she said screw it and gave up, ha ha. I did make a Petty blue Daytona, but now I can't seam to transfer the photo to the web site here. Looks awesome. I emailed OverHaulin' today per Chip Foose. Asking him to make a drawing of my clone like so in photo w/no wing color. We'll see if he responds to my request. Thanks again ds440!

Larry, I did an orange HOK w/a white tail and black. But now I can't deliver them on line here. I have to wait till wife gets home to do so. Otherwise, I may lose what I made for you.

daytonalo

can you tell me in laymens terms on how that is done

dads_69

Man I wish I could. What a pain, having installed the photo shop just last night was the easy part, trying to figure it out is the hard part. making a car or whatever change colors and making it stick is a pain. I've read the book twice, and still, its a brain killer for a non computer high tech guy like myself. Hopefully when the wife gets home from work tonight, she'll help me out in transferring the photo in here. I just pissed off my buddy *rare69* when I told him I want to two tone my clone, haha.....

ds440

Here ya go, daytonalo.

This is the best that I could do.  I'm not 100% sure what the HOK Orange Pearl looks like and I could only find one reference online.  So I used that one image as the basis for the color.  Hopefully this is close.

ds440

I got a request for a Foosed '74 black on black.  I'm not an expert on 3rd gens, so I'm not 100% sure if this is a 73 or 74 (I don't know the difference :rotz:).

Anyway, here's my guess at what our ol' buddy Chip might try.  Shockingly, no two tone.  But black on black was the request...so there you go.  I blacked out the grill, made them hideaways, shaved door handles, sidemarkers, etc...

Foose's Challenger rims...

Are you sure your last name isn't foose?  I think the only thing you missed was to suck in the bumpers closer to the body.

451-74Charger

Man that is perfect.
Now I just have to make sure I DONT do that to mine..lol

Blown70

OK, FINE I like IT!!!!!!  But hey just my opinion right. :icon_smile_wink:

Brock Samson

love these chops!!!
looks cool, what if ya blacked out and tucked in the bumpers?...

Daytonalo,.. what if you went with a pearl/candy tangerine?...
just askin..  :-\ i concidered it for the Runner..

dads_69

ds440. I've been trying to photo shop still that same care red/black with 5 spoke rims. No luck yet. Is it possible you can scan it again for me with magnum 500 rims on it. I'm putting 15 x 10 rear and 15 x 8 front on mine. Thanks again for your photos.

ds440

I think this is what you are looking for, dads_69.  I really can't photoshop in accurately sized wheels.  Photoshop doesn't really work that way.  So I guessed what I thought 15x10's and 15x8's would look like.

ds440

I got another request.  This time for a 1st gen.

Per the request-
-black/silver/red
-hood scoop
-hemi callout
-no emblems
-red brake calipers

Let me know if I left anything out.
