Don't you normally carry the title in the car Chris?

In ON, if the police pull you over they ask for three things before asking any questions:

Driver's Licence
Ownership (title)
Insurance Card

Do you just carry a photocopy?

Not in Jersey. We have license, registration and Insurance Card. If I handed my title to you, you could simply sign my name and technically own my car.

I had no idea that's how it works in Ontario. I know when I bought my Charger from Winnipeg, it only had a bill of sale. Are you telling me you have to carry that in your car?  :o

Yo,
About ten years ago at a local car show, someone went into the glove box of my 73' SE Charger and took the title & registration!

You carried your title in the car? That's a first for me. Did you have it signed as well?  :P
Yo,
Are you trying to be a dick? Don't be a dick, no one likes a dick. So that makes it OK that someone stole from me? I was just trying to let a fellow Moper owner understand that I felt the same frustartion as he. :rotz:

Yo, yeah he is tryin' to be a dick - did the  :P  give it away?   :shruggy:  He will continue to be a dick, but that's why we like him so much, 'cause he tells it like it is!   :yesnod:  In reality, he's not a dick, he just says a lot of stuff that others don't have the balls to say.  I don't think he ever said it was OK that someone stole from you.  He simply asked a legit question, made a legit comment and then asked a wise ass question.  Stick around, you'll see that's the norm around here - no harm intended.

And by the way, there are a lot of chicks out there that like dicks!   :yesnod:

Blah Blah Blah,
Sorry for being such a sensitive pussy. I am the dumb ass that left the title in the center console. A hard lesson learned, I might as well left the keys in the ignition!

Geez, what's with this place lately? I just want Troy or whoever cares to know, that I have been called a "dick" and a "horses ass" in this last week. Both times I have not responded with any negativity. I want my bad attitude record cleared of any charges. As a matter of fact, can you please change my screen name to Mr. Wonderful? That best suits me at this point.  :P  :icon_smile_wink:

BMXOTO, The reason I asked why you had your title in your car, is because around here we are not required to carry the title in the car. Do you have to carry a title in your car? It's a simple question.

Hey dick head (I dont think anyone called you that yet.... :nana: ) In NY we dont have titles for cars pre- '75 I believe.  Our registrstions are transferrable.

PS---I still think you are a horses ass but I still love ya ;)

PSS--everyone here needs to take a chill pill lately.....I think old man winter is upon us early this season > :rotz:

Here in Canada we have to carry the title of the car in the vehicle. It's not as easy to just sign a name onto it and own the vehicle though since the transfer papers need alot of personal info, at least they do in BC. You have to fill out addresses, drivers license numbers, etc.

Yo Mr.Wonderful,
Sorry mate, I was a dumb as by leaving the title in the car. The reason it was in my console was due to the fact that I had went to the DMV before the car show to register for historical plates. I did not say that you are a dick, just not to be one.
You are a senior member and I am a newbie to the site. Thanks for not kicking my ass!

It sounds like Canada's version of a title is different than in the U.S.
Here, it's pretty much the last word for legitimately owning a car & is always stashed in a safe place at home until you're ready to sell the car. The odd thing is (at least in Utah) that the DMV only requires an owner's signature for title transfer...if it's signed, it's as good as sold. Until about 10 years ago, the current owner had to have a notary stamp on the title before transfer was legal, now they don't care for some reason.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

This past summer in Carlisle, PA @ the Chrysler gathering, I heard rumors that vin tags and fender tags were being stolen from some cars, however I think it was just rumors cause nothing officially was said at the end ceremony/annoucements, and I would think something like that would be announced..................................you would think!! :flame:

I see no reason to put my fender tag on my car at all.  I removed it when I got the car and put it in a safe place.  There is really no reason for me to have it on the car.  I can understand if some people want it on for shows, etc...  but the way things are these days its not even worth the risk.  I think as long as you have copies/photos/rubbings of them with you that should be just as good.  Id much rather have my fender tag than a car show trophy... Its just one less thing for someone to steal.  I wouldnt even have the VIN tag on my dash if it was legal to take it off.   ;)
