Which county? :P I know Shelby County, where my brother lives, and Fayette, where I live, doesn't. But I'd imagine it varies.

In the shit hole I call home [NEW JERSEY} if the vehicle is 25 years and older you can reg it as an antique and you pay a one time reg fee and there is no emission testing . Now that I think about , every other thing is fucked up about this state but that . One of the biggest embarrassment was when our governor was taking in the ass , what a disgrace !!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he means if he would live in the country instead of the city.

My answer to that is, it depends on the state and their laws. Because here in Wisconsin, only about a third of the state requires emisions testing. I live in a county that does not. But all of the counties to the south of me do have it.

In N.C they do not require a vehicle made before 1970 (i believe) to be inspected at all. :yesnod: Saves me $10 a year

Current MoPars:
1968 Charger. 318 Out of commission:(
1975 Dart Swinger. 225 Pops daily ride.
1990 Dodge Ram. 360FI My daily ride.

If you dont like emissions move to North Dakota! You could be pumping out blue smoke and no one gives a shit! We also have some of the cheepest traffic tickets in the US

Alaska has the same law. If the car or truck is under 1974. It only needs a tail pipe test. Every two years it has to be renewed and it depends on the year of your car or truck, the price can be high. There are though towns not far from here that do not require testing for emissions, weird since the towns are only 40 miles away for the most. Makes no sense.

In TN, it's 25 years or older to qualify for an antique tag. Which is permament, and allows you to not have to deal with emissions. My brother had a POS Chevy truck, a '76 IIRC, with those tags, while he lived in Memphis. Of course, half the time it couldn't run enough to get to inspection stations, much less pass.
