For that kind of money, if you can afford to fix it, and have a place to put it, why not?

Awesome cars IMO. My sister has a '71 318 A/C that was a 1 owner (older woman's) car. It has been repainted and is a beautiful car.

$500 isn't much of anything for a car that runs let alone a Dart. Buy it..sell that fricken Camaro of the wife's and paint the Dart Panther Pink for her.

Sounds like a real gem!

You'll be into a lot more than $500.00 in no time.  If ain't parts it will be towing bills or both!

Only you know Andy, if you should buy it!

jaak

I would buy it, I am keeping my eye out for an A body, myself to build when the charger is done, A bodies are still realitivly cheep and so are the parts... but they are next on the chain.... 1st the E bodies..... Then the B bodies, give it a few years A bodies aren't gonna be cheep anymore for the 'plain' cars. The early 340 cars are already soaring.
Just my thoughts on the subject, I passed up a fairly solid 73 duster/ less engine for 450, a few months ago and wish I would have bought it.
Worst comes to worst you know you can get your 500 back if not more down the road if you find another project you'd rather have. :yesnod:

$500?? You know you can't get much anything for that kind of money anymore Andy.... you could probably part it and double your money, if nothing else! If he still has it Sunday, you might even get it for less.....

Rust?  Syracuse?  NO.
:iagree:   buy a case of beer and enjoy your free time. Rusty cars suck and dismantling them is even worse.

I spent 4 winters in cortland and 1 in buffalo with frequent visits to Oswego in between.  I will say that buffalo gets a bad rap on the weather, but central NY has the worst weather I have ever seen.  It snows every goddam day.  Oswego is no treat either, it's like being in a North Pole research station.

Spend that $500 on something new for your Charger and forget that rusty Swinger....

I know of local 74 Charger, original blue (not sure what motor is in it) for $500. I wouldnt consider buying a Dart as they're not rare car and I wouldn;t want to clutter up yard with another car. Its up to you if you got extra cash/space

you are talking shumaker mounts, or diferent k member, 8 3/4 a body rear ends are hard to find, v8 drive train, ect. how ever, the dart could feed the mopar hunger in the winter  when you cant drive your charger.  and if you think about it, if it doesnt  work out, you could always get your cash back out of it.   what color?  i know of ONE here in south dakota, and its at a salvage yard. roof looks like some kids did a dance on the roof, missing the drivers door, slant six, busted up grill. inside is ratted out, and th guy still wants 400 bucks for it.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

andy74

BigBlockSam
