i bought a couple very used cragar style wheels a while back. one of the tires wont hold air. it leaks from around the metalclip thingy on the  the edge of the rim and the stem. tire has been flat along time. i need to know is the tire bad or the wheel.

The metal clip thingy that you are talking about..... would that be a wheel weight?  If so, a tire shop might be able to put some bead sealer around it.  If it is leaking from around the valve stem, they might be able to fix it with a new valve stem.

Also, welcome to the site.

If the tire's been flat a long time, it could also have permanently damaged the bead where the tire seals against the rim...in that case, a new tire is in order & you may as well throw in a new $2 valve stem while you're at it.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
