400 boss pad info

Has anyone seen or know why a boss pad on a 400 would have these and only these numbers and letters. First line S 38, second line 1222   stamped. Thats  all there is . Thanks

S 38 would be consistent with a 1962 model year 383 and 12/22 the assembly date of December 22nd. Have you checked the casting numbers and dates to confirm this is a 400 block?
