OK, am I missing something here? Over on moparts there's an ad for a bunch of 3rd gen stuff, then this...

69 charger trunk lid nice$750

If that's the case, I can paint my '68 with all the truck lids I have...   :icon_smile_big:

If that is true, I am sitting on a goldmine too.  I was picking them up a few years ago at swapmeets for $25-75(no dents or rust), some with nice orginal paint.  Now, hoods and fenders I understand, but trunklids?......

A trunk lid for $750?  I can almost bet I personally know who it is offering it at that price.   ::)

I had an extra lid last year that had absolutely no rust. I mean not even surface rust, but it did have a small dent along the rear edge that was about one inch deep. Nobody wanted it for the $50.00/BO I was asking, so I gave it to a local friend to save as a spare.

I could see an asking price of $750 for an NOS part, but I still wouldn't buy it.

These guys just toss out ridiculous prices to test the waters. Someone will bite, and that sets the benchmark for the next go-round.
Next a guy will ask $900 - if he gets it, the bar will be raised again. The whole thing of the free market system. Supply, demand, and how much you wanna pay?

It's only worth what someone will pay.  I have needed a part or really wanted it, and over paid, on the other hand I have bought many items that my project is a long way from being ready for because it was a good buy, and it always seems like if I sell something at a real low price the one I got brakes and I pay more to replace it :'(

It's a local guy in New York that I was thinking of, but I should just go look to see the Moparts ad. His prices are usually way above normal, but sometimes I've seen the condition as being "a little less than accurate" in my opinion.   ::)

I wouldn't buy from showcars (Canada) ever again... They don't stand behind their product and the quality...  :icon_smile_dead:

Here is an example, I bought a Daytona wing from them. It was horrible. Contacted them for either a replacement or to take it back and refund. No dice and they stopped taking my calls and wouldn't reply to my E-mails. I spent a month on each of the uprights and got them looking as best I could but the center blade at the top was just not repairable. None of the pieces matched up either. I bought the front fender scoops from the same place and they were just as bad. They can go ahead and try to say something about me making the comments here....  I have pictures of what they shipped me, and what I had to do just to make it fit together and fit on the car. I cannot say what you will get with their trunk lids, but I would never endorse them because of my experience with them.

The picture below shows the end result of 2 & 1/2 months of work on the wing they sent me. The only thing that I couldn't fix was the sag in the center blade on top.

I had a trunk lid from a 69 about a year ago that was decent except for the rear lip having some rust.  I was trying to sell it for $25 and nobody wanted it.  I finally ended up throwing it out.  Hated to do it, but, I didn't have the room to keep it.
