Well my wife and I are thinking of moving out to Springfield, Tennessee.  I'm not selling or leaving anything behind so it will not be cheap to move.(67 Camaro, 68 Charger, 2000 Bayliner, R1,) I sold my Ford diesel (sorry it's a ford guys) and will be given a new one once I'm there. I'm not thrilled about having a company ship the charger or the camaro and If Uhaul has a hitch on the big trucks I can tow one car(charger)  :icon_smile_big:  myself.  I've got family there but I've been here in Ca. my whole life.  Basically I told my wife last night that if we could do it for under $10k we could go. :-\ And let me tell you she's ready to pack.  ???  She has family out there and so do I now so I guess I may as well start packing  :shruggy: I hope I can still go boating and riding alot.  Chuck.................

Tenn. is as good a place as any I guess. Seeing as how she has family here, you'll be accepted easier. I wasn't born here or had family here when I took up residence 13 yrs. ago so I'm an outsider at least in this area of Tenn. Not whining or whatever just stating fact.

Never lived there myself, but know people who have. They seemed to be positive on it in general. As Lowprofile said, climate is pretty good, lots of outdoor activities, and you'll probably live there a heck of a lot cheaper than in the land of fruits and nuts.

Well I know I'm not a fruit so I guess I'm the nut :icon_smile_big: I should have mentioned I have a brother there in Springfield. He's been there for about 8 years so I'll have someone to talk to.  I'll have a 3 car garage there and my own little music studio,  :musik010:  so it's very tempting.  And like my wife say's, we can always come back because we will still have property here in Ca.

Daytonalo,  You real should seek help with your sheep fetish, this is at least the third thread you have discussed the topic.
I lived in both CA, and TN during my time in the service, if my wife had not been from IL, I may have stayed in TN.  pros and cons
Tn                                                   Ca
low cost of living                               Not
beautifull country                             ditto
cold winter                                     nice year round
slower pace                                   lots of night life
central location                               way out west

Lots of luck with move.  There are pros and cons to every location.  It will be what you make it!

Your right , I just had two guys come pick up a car here and they were from west Virginia, and they told me a funny TRUE story of a guy who was banging sheep . I keep asking myself maybe he's on to something , no complaining , no whining , no alimony , . I looked , no sheep near by .

My parents lived in Tenn for awhile and love it.  I spend much of my childhood taking trips there with them and I would consider moving there big time.  The people are friendly...slower pace...pretty areas...I like it.

I know a man who has a sheep named Micheal Jackson...

Seriously, that's just an extremely messed up thing, and only very rarely ever seen. Except in Arkansas. But then it's legal to marry your mother, or sister, over in Arkansas.  :icon_smile_big:

We also have a bill on the ballot this year so that after a person is 65 there is no property taxes.  ;) So stay a while if you come.

Of course, the current governor killed my grandmother and uncle due to his fraudulent handling of TennCare. And we have out in Memphis Willie vonDoom. Who's abused his influence to get his Daughter-in-law out of jail time after she killed a guy while driving drunk. She sideswiped him, sending the guy into another car and then the median. Independant analysis proved that. He also embarrassed us internationally, by refusing to see foriegn abassadors, and refusing to send somebody to show them the town, which as a result they were mugged. Not to mention on his watch Memphis, which before Herenton got Cleanest City awards year after year, is in horrid condition, and with well over 100 murders this year so far. People are fleeing, the economy is crumbling,  and crime is skyrocketing. He's also killed the city's credit with a completely unnecessary arena, screwed up other venues in favor of an independant organization's profit margin, and put the city so far in debt they'll never get out alive. And the only people remaining are apparently too stupid to realize what he's done. >:(

So stay away from Memphis. And things will be fine. :) I personally am planning on moving eastwards myself, after getting married. She wants to head to Virginia, though I want to stay in TN and head to the mountains.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I lived in Millington, real close to Memphis.  I liked being able to go visit Memphis, Mud Island, Graceland and the zoo, but still living in a slower paced community.

My brother's truck recieved 6 wounds from a .22 caliber rifle in Millington.  :rotz: I'm not fond of that place either.
