Well I just got my carrier assembly back from the rebuild shop and it really looks good.  While it was there they hot tanked it to clean all of the crap off inside and out.  I figured while it was out of the car, now was the time to really take the time to make it look as best as I could.  While cleaning off the old paint with paint stripper that was not removed from the hot tank process, I noticed some original markings and recorded them and took some digital photos to replicate after I painted the housing.  Here are some  before and after shots.

after...  (just waiting on the new rubber stamps to come in to add the finishing touches to it)

With any luck, I will be able to get my rear reassembled today and hopefully the weather will hold out and take it for its break in ride.

3.55's by Motive Performance.  This a slight noticeable improvement with throttle responsiveness when I was out on the road today to do the 20 min/mile break in.  No more growling noise when I let off the gas but I do hear a low whirring noise which is just hopefully till the gears wear in.  According to the break in procedure, you are supposed to drive it for 20 miles/ mins and then let it completely cool to cold touch.  After I got back , I put the car on the lift and felt the carrier housing.  It was still quite hot but not as hot as what it was prior to the rebuild.  Hopefully I will be able to take it out for another spin on Sat (weather permitting) to see how it goes a second time.

One thing I did notice that when I was out on the highway doing about 70, the engine started to miss and not run smooth.  It could just be a timing issue or fuel delivery issue as it does not seem to happen around town.

Ron, you don't know how much I am praying that this is the last of my third member problems.  Luckily I have been able to sell some stuff on ebay to recoop my losses for the cost of the rear rebuild.
