Because after all, we're celebrating the death of someone  Now think about it, if trick or treaters (children)  were the ones killing and so on then I would agree with you 100% and my children would have no part of it. its great day for flat tires - breaking windows - throwing eggs - shaving cream - breaking garbage bags - chasing young kids - people steelings kids - toilet paper in trees - satan rituals - getting drunk - taking numerous drugs - yes - lets teach our kids how important this day is

kids will be kids, its a part of life, chances are the ones the commit the more serious crimes are the ones the lead the sheltered life in a bubble.

Lisa's 14 year old finally turned the corner....  She had to get cat ears and a tail and started to go out with her friend but shortly thereafter they ditched the costume and candy bag and got out the dark hoodies and went and found some other kids that had the shaving cream...   2 hours or so later they came back slimed from head to toe and she was told to towel off and get in the shower.    They had fun I'm sure.

The cops were patrolling my neighborhood pretty good.   They took at least 2 kids off in the back of a squad car but I suspect that was more for possible pot possession outside a house known for that.

Didn't matter if they got a lot or not...   I had $100 of candy and probably gave out around $70 worth...  lots of extra this year.   Kid count was down a bit... maybe I got some of them wackos moving in the neighborhood too

What a great night tonight was!  My 2.5 year old Daughter took part in a tradition that I, as well as her Mother took part in when we were children.

All of the children we met tonight were polite and grateful.  All of the folks in the neighbourhood were generous, even though they didn't have to be.

She chose the monkey costume.  May God have mercy on her soul!

In that case, I think I'm going to get piss drunk tonight, and start my First Annual Halloween Bloody Rampage, where I go around, and slaughter innocent children who are just looking to get some candy, break into houses to kidnap and eat babies, and find myself some Christians to sacrifice to Randall, the Pagan God of Halloweenmas.

cite your sources, dude.  You can't make ridiculous blanket statements like that without citation of sources where this crap you claim happens has happened any time this decade.  And no, the 'good' Rev. Phelps or some of his ilk don't count.
Heck, even if you CAN find some random isolated incident, I would be willing to bet good money the propensity for such things to happen is NO higher on halloween than any other day of the year.

Well, I got up this morning and so far so good. NO reports of dead babies or Christians. Man Rudyjr, are you still at war with the Romans? ? I guess your Religion teaches hate and I'm glad I'm not a ROMAN because you would blame me for my peoples crime. What are you so afraid of ?  TURN THE OTHER CHEEK MAN !!!  And another thing, any group that wants to kill Christians would probably pick Easter or Christmas, You know, a day more would be together.  And I suppose only Christians should celebrate Christmas and Easter.    Now just to let you know, I believe the Christian way And I also beleive in having THICKER SKIN.  That means don't read into stuff that much. If you look long and hard enough you can find bad in anything.  Now I was taught to keep my mind out of the gutter, and I guess you were not. Ghost, I thought that was already a Nebraska tradition?  Cute costumes on the kids.  We didnt have many trick r treaters but the ones we had were cute and all very well behaved.  No one rang the bell after about 7:30 and I was asleep by 9:30.  A good night all in all considering all the fury created on this thread.  Just waiting for the dreaded Thanksgiving so we can all go out and contribute to the exacution of countless inocent turkeys not to mention the multitudes of potatos skinned in the name of potato salad! Don't even get me started on the deployable living conditions of the Christmas rhein deer

My youngest goes to a Catholic grade school and every year the 8th grade class builds a haunted house in the cafeteria and spooks everybody the Friday before Halloween.

And they do call it Halloween. Not evil just fun.
