McLeod Mini Starter Motor

I bought a McLeod mini starter motor on Saturday and we've gone to fit it and it's fouling the flywheel and exhaust, basically touching the body which surely isn't correct? The only thing I can think of is are these starter motors the same for small block and big block? Is there a chance he's given me a small block starter motor instead of a big block one? Or are they all the same?

Is it the type of mini -starter with a mounting plate that can be rotated by loosening two Allen bolts

Here's some pictures I just took, if you look closely you can see it's touching, I think I may just take it back and recondition the old one
