hey guys
some of you might remember my post about Bo . she was my dog of 15 yrs, i wrote a post about having to put her to sleep in june . she was very sick . it was tuff on me and my wife.
well,  we got a new pup, she's a black english blockhead lab . she's 8 weeks old . her name is Dusty . i haven't heard my wife laugh like this in a long time . she's  a hand full and a crapping and peeing machine . she's so small and she's stole my heart already. here's some pics Rene

Congrats, that's a cute little puppy! She won't stay that size very long. :icon_smile_big:

Anybody like puppy breath? I do...my kids think I'm nuts. :icon_smile_tongue:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

We have a black knucklehead variety lab.

If you can make it 2 years they are great dogs. That puppy time is a tough time. Chew and eat everything!HAHA!

man your getting me nervous . my buddy was here yesterday, he said his lab took two yrs to stop chewing. i had a lab before my last dog . i don't remember it taking two yrs till she mellowed out. this one is part alligator, she comes at you with her mouth open ready to bite and play .  me and my wife are in luv with her already . I'm afraid I have the black knuckle head variety as well, but it's getting bad.  We got him about 13 years ago we found him on the side of the road he had a brocken hip and had just been hit by a car.  We took him to the vet it cost over 1k to treat and he had to stay in a little cage for over a month to keep the hip emobilized.  Now he's an older dog and often he can't even get up or his legs will just go out from him.  He always needs help up the stairs, but he doesn't seem to be in any pain.  I would take him to the vet but I am afraid they will tell me to put him to sleep.  We have had him so long, he's like one of our kids.

my heart goes out to you . it just shows what big hearts you guys have . your special people to do that for a helpless animal . thats a hard decision to make , to put your animal down but you'll know when it has to be done . in the end with my last dog. i would tell her at night , please let go, please. you don't have to hang in there for me. she was so old and sick. i wanted her to die in her sleep. we where carrying her in and out of the house to crap . it came to the point that she was suffering , so i made the decision to put her down. i don't regret it at all it was the right thng to do . it took us 5 months till we where able to get this new puppy. good luck to you and your pup . you gave her a good loving  long life . well guys here's dusty all grown up ,at 18 months . . she is a wonderful dog . since we have no children she is our little girl . she mellowed out at about 8 months. after chewing my picnic table into little pieces . she's the smartest dog i have ever owned and stubborn too.
she's my little partner . even crawls under the cars in the backyard to help me  when I'm under them working . she goes everywhere with me  and listens well. Rene

Rene is right. Dusty is the love of our lives. After we had to put Bo down, at the age of 15, I never thought I had it in me to love and raise another dog. But when we got Dusty, short of 8 weeks, Rene picked her up and put her in my arms, she looked at me, licked my face, put her tiny head on my shoulder and fell asleep. That was it. I was in love with that little thing. We are still not sure that she's a dog, you tell her what to do or not to do once and she gets it (more than I can say for most people..). The one thing that made us realize that she is a mopar dog was that she will steal all of Rene's screwdrivers, pliers, etc' and anything he needed to work on the cars, and she would chew it to pieces, walking into the house like a little bear, with her tail up and proud, to show us her latest conquest. She is Mommy's little girl , but she is definetily Rene's  little partner.

Sorry to hear about Bo. Always hard losing a pet. :'( Glad to here you have another one to steal your heart. Funny how puppies are so good at that. :icon_smile_big:
