Ok, I am tryin to make a 1970 Dodge Super Bee and I am looking for a good set of bucket seats. I think I found a set, but I am not positive that they are right. I found a set in a 1974 Plymouth Satellite, I know that the upholstery isnt correct, but are the seats themselves correct? I also need to know if the seat tracks are correct. Thanks!!! P.S. what would you spend on them?

They should fit but aren't the right ones. Foam and cover are different. Also the back panels what were changed on mids 71.

70 and 71 are the same buckets, foam and cover with difference on lates 71 back panels.
You will find earliers production 71 are the same back panels than 70 kind and lates production 71 are the same than 72 and laters. Non interchangleable since release button is a lot longer on earliers. also I think uses extra trim to cover sides.

Buckets, Foam and Back panels are the same since 72 up maybe 78-79 with cover difference:
72-73 same covers.
74 same cover design but different vinyl pattern
75 and laters... covers are EXTRA padded and more buttons.

Becarefull, not sure about 70 and 3rd gen tracks. Bucket itself will fit on any track, but don't know about 3rd gen tracks on 70.

:'( Do you think that they are woth the $250 he wants for em?

New covers made by legendary and some restore dealers like Year One cost $250 for 72-74 buckets. Local upholstery will go a lot cheaper. I made mines on a local upholstery down here in Venezuela and paid around $180 for all buckets and rear bench covers job ( my sig shows how they are actually ), so if you $500 think are what you are looking for and you are able to pay is your decision, but even they are pretty close, really aren't the right ones.

for $500 total going with legendary or any restore dealer cover, I will wait for a better chance to get the right ones. If I find some pic to show you how they really are, I'll post.

Year one website will help a lot on show how the covers are, even they don't show how different are the rest of stuff. I don't think ( not sure ) 70-71 covers will fit like a glove on 72-74 because the foam probably difference to get the right 70-71 look, maybe some wrinckled areas. Once again not sure.

I THINK foam is different because the way cover fits on seat once assemblied. If is not different then you will get the right look getting the right covers, but allways back panels will be different and not interchangeable. Still think tracks won't be a perfect fit on your floor board, not sure either. I have seen 2ng gens with 3rd gen buckets BUT not sure if they changed the complete assembly with tracks or not.

making a further search I will show you what I have discovered. Info is some confusing on some cases, but differences are there:
about covers:

70 Superbee/Coronet

70 Charger

so starting with this, Chargers and Coronets are different cover.

71Charger/Superbee and B bodies Plymouths.  Year One show them separatelly but PN is the same.

72 Plymouths B bodies... Shallow Elk grain inserts with pleats, Coachman grain skirts and COlognes grain center armrest covers

72/73 Charger and 73 B body Plymouths. Shallow Elk grain inserts with buttons, and Cologne grain skirts, and Coachman center armrest cover.

74 Charger and B bodies Plymouths. Year One show them separatelly but PN is the same. Covers are same design but vinyl paterns are different...Shallow Elk grain inserts with buttons, and Oxford grain skirts.

Foam... this is the only one they show, and specify for some 70-71 E bodies and only talks about 70 Plymouths B bodies. I think they are wrong and are the same to Dodges too

copying:
Seat foams for 1970 Road Runner, Satellite, GTX models with vinyl seat covers, 1970 'Cuda with vinyl seat covers, 1970 Gran Coupe with vinyl and cloth seat covers. 1971 Challenger with plaid cloth-style seat covers.

Is very tipical some overviews on Year One descriptions and aplications.

Judge yourself. 70 Charger seat cover I show above ( green one ) shows a extra padded hump below the headrest, different than the 70 coronet/superbee one, but it could be extra padd on cover and nothing to do with foam.

Definitelly they are not the same foam than 72-74 ones since I have seen mines uncovered, althought really really similar. Mines are not that heavily casted, lot similar but more plain. It could be just years using makes that.

Talking about back panels:
here is the 70 and first half 71 panels:

and here is second 71 half and 72 and laters:

main difference what makes them not interchangeable beside teh looks are the back hinges area where release button uses an extra trim on the larger release button on earliers. I don't know if you can notice between the green Charger pic cover I posted and the one you posted.

NOW, on dashtops.com they specify those seatbacks panels also to A BODIES, so maybe you can try to search on A bodies junkyards cars on ebay itself and that will make wider your posibilities. maybe not the covers but yes the structure.

anyay, still doubts about tracks itself
