^^ THAT plus, no offense but I'd much rather see AMD get with the program and start pounding these out in STEEL. Even with the bulge, third gen hoods are pretty long & flat which doesn't lend itself to longevity in a composite part.

I'd probably be interested and put my original away for safe keeping for awhile if I could get one cheap enough. I wouldn't really go out of my way to get one though, but that's because I have a few originals maybe.

I have a VFN and not overly impressed.  It works for now.  I definitely want a steel one.  I have emailed AMD twice asking them if they had any plans to make any and they say NO and don't have any plans to any time soon.  Maybe, if everyone floods their email asking for these hoods they will reconsider.  If we can show them that it would be profitable, they may reconsider.

Who knows,
Scott

I've sent my fair share of emails too, never really got a response. Called once and got a verbal that they were considering it. They said they were looking for good originals to work from but couldn't find any. They're not that hard to find if you're motivated and can split up the cost of an expensive part over 100's of sales (to say, scan for measurements to make a die from...)

This seems weird to me. One of the business decisions leading to whether a part should be repopped or not is "how big an audience would the part have"...and this hood will fit all third gens, if you're willing to overlook cowl vent differences. Chrysler made more third gen's than any other...yet AMD chose to repop Dart fenders? No offense to the A-body crowd but here in NC Darts are still pretty common, some driven daily. I can buy an entire Dart 4-door for what AMD wants for two fenders.

Well. Truth be told.  I've visited this thread 3x.
;)
Fortunately my cars all came with good original hoods. If not I'd also be emailing

My red 74 in my picture has one of those fiberglass hoods. .very light but took my body man hours to make it perfect for the car. I'm a 3 rd gen fanatic and I'd want the correct cowl vents for 71-74 but that's me!
