Hood latch and spring

I just pulled off the hood latch and spring this morning and am getting ready to bead-blast.   Can anyone clue me in as to the original colors.   I know the linkage from the release lever to the latch assembly is unpainted, but I can't find the info on the latch mechanism itself nor the hood spring (near the latch).

The hood spring should be black phosphate.  The catch mechanism could have come clear zinc plated or natural.  I clear zinc'd mine.

I've got a Zinc Phosphate that is mostly black.  Same thing?

My can of Linc is sort of an off gray.

The black zinc phosphate is a blackish/greyish color with little flecks in it......its a dark grey color.

The clear zinc is a bright silver color

The black and zinc phosphate finishes, are those Eastwood kits that you're using?

Yes, the clear zinc and zinc phosphate are products from Eastwood.
