I haven't seen a charger with lambo doors yet. It's not like it couldn't be put back stock later on. I say go for it and be sure and post pics.
If anyone calls it ricey, just remember...Dodge put big wings on the back of cars long before the ricers did. :icon_smile_big:

Personally, I think the idea is pointless and would look STUPID !   BUT I've done allot of things to cars that I think is cool, but everybody else thinks is STUPID, so who am I to judge?   My advice is this do what you think is cool, to hell with everybody else's opinion, but do yourself a favor first, if you want to do this to your 73 realize one thing-73/74 doors are VERY HEAVY! Allot heavier than previous year doors, there is a large"side impact beam" built into them that weighs allot. You'll have to incorporate some sort of counter balance spring, pressurized gas assist cylinders or lighten the doors to make them easier to swing up...this could be a tough job, I think I'd rather hack up a 69 R/T SE and make a Daytona clone out of it....wait a minute...I'm already doing that  :yesnod:

Dude I would love to own a 69 RT SE,  let alone try to make it into a Daytona Clone!  but sadly I can not afford to get one now.  The Decah verticle door kits come with gas cylinders already, I am waiting for their reply to see if they can fabricate the kit to lift the heavy charger doors!

Of all the mods I have done, or have planned to do... that one has not so much as passed through my mind. No, even I would not do THAT to a Charger.

I would not ever consider it.  And this is coming from a person with some experience.  Until about 4 years ago I had a fairly rare Bricklin with gull wing doors.  And what problems.  What they did was convert a non-issue, no problems with normal doors really, into a maintenance nightmare.  The pillars on a Charger are not designed to take that kind of load, there will be an issue with counterbalancing it or using some electric or hydraulic motor to lift them, then there is the issue of what you do if the battery dies and you are outside trying to get in.  Just one unneeded issue after another.  The wow factor just isn't worth it, in my opinion.

There was a Dart at the Nats this year with those style of doors.

I think it would be cool to see, but I'd never consider putting it on any of my cars.

And for those who don't know, lamborghinis have the scissor type door openings, not the gull wings like on a delorian.

Yea, do that and then flare all four fenders and install 22" spinners, do a purple pearl coat paint job with a purple velvet interior and dingle berries all around the inside of the roof. Remember the white shag carpet on the floor. :apimp: Don't forget the 180-degree swivel captain's chairs and double whip antennas.

The ricer/J body guys around here started it last year some time. Now there are more cars with the kits than without. You'd look like a way too late "Me too" effort. And it really wouldn't suit the car. My $0.02. :(

How many HP do they make?
OK, then, how many MPG will they give you?
Oh I see, sure will look cool at 60 MPH!
OK, then why?

Oh, so it will look cool when you buy gas at the quickie mart?

Hee, Hee, Hee, just having a little fun. If someone has done everthing they wanted and just to have a new toy for there car, why not? I have seen one car in person that had that done, 1998 Grand Prix. He was at the shop because the right door had hit and folded the front fender :icon_smile_big:

To be honest it was not do to the door kite, his car was a pices off s--t and had been sort of fixed. Core support was bent and they just hung the sheet metal. Kite them self did seem well made and did not butcher the door.

Told the guy $1500.00 to make the pull, fix the fender and re hang the sheet metal. "Mannn, that to much Mannn" was what he said. Hum "what did you spend to have the doors done", "$2000.00 Mann"! OK. let me get this straight you spent $2000.00 to make your door's open funny, but $1500.00 is to  much to straighten the core support, rehang all the sheet metal that is on wrong, fix the fender and paint the fender and door?

What can you say, you can not help stupid! :icon_smile_big:
