I've always admired Foose's skills, but that's a little much on the Challenger.  I'd still let him do my car, though...

He's not going near mine Thank You anyway.

HE COULD DO MINE. BUT, IF HE PUT THOSE WHEELS ON MINE I WOULD TAKE THEM OFF AND TAKE THEM TO THE PULVERISER. (COMES OUT IN 50 CENT SIZE PIECES).

He could take mine! Anything I don't like I would change. Remember, he does them the way the owner wants them done! I doubt he would trash your car!

bull

At least wheels and tires are easy to replace. That paint though... :icon_smile_dissapprove:

myk

Exactly.  Paint, wheels and tires are superficial points of concern.  What's cool about Foose is that he'd build the car up from the inside as well, where it really counts anyway...

FOOSE WILL BE DOING A CHALLANGER AT SEMA, FOR OVERHAULIN' THERE IS GOING TO BE A 6.1 HEMI IN IT WITH A 727 TRANS.... I HEARD FROM AN INSIDE SOURCE THAT I GOT MY 6.1 FROM

ChargerHound69

I guess he liked the idea of the green challenger he did on Overhaulin so much, he had to make another one.  That kind of sucks for the guy who got his car done on Overhaulin, because now he is going to have 100's of them just like his.

I doubt he cares if he got his done for free!

I for one LOVE those wheels. They are much better looking than the billet Rallyes offered by Wheel Vintiques, IMHO. They are not available to the public at this time, but will be early in '07. They are going on my '69 I'm building. Sorry to offend anyone...

I dont think its FREE per say.  I believe the "overhauled" person needs to pay for taxes and some other things.  either way, they are forkin out some cash at the end of the day to keep the car I believe.

Well when I watched him destroy that challenger, he got so much hate mail he was afraid to do another Mopar.  Heck even in that show the host warned all Mopar enthusiasts about what was going to happen and Foose apologized before hand.

He took on another Mopar about a year and a half after that one, a 'B' body I think a GTX and he left well enough alone and kept all the lines and door handles.  He evidently listened to all the hate mail.

I would have sued if that was my Chally! :icon_smile_angry:

I may be wrong, but it was my understanding that the overhauling show (Foos) were paid through advertising, and parts were donated for promotional consideration, leaving no cost to the car owner for there restoration, recreation or what ever the final product.

i maybe too, but i think my wife looked into it and found out that she would have to pay some type of taxes on all the items that were done or services provided.

Always with the two tone.

Whats up with that? Doesn't he like solid coloring????

Guy does great work and I wouldn't pass up an opportunity for him to do my car but I'd definately let it be known that you will give me back my old rims to do with what I please and would make him no garantee's that the two tone could turn to one color again some day soon. But I'd love to have him to all the backbreaking and very expensive ground off body work.  :icon_smile_approve:

I heard that too. I know the guy who had his wife's Magnum overhauled (the one that they put a 300 front end on). I never got around to asking him about the tax situation - maybe next time I see him.

As good as those cars come out looking, there's always issues. The Magnum has had quite a few problems - first the hands free automatic doors, and last I heard the wiring harness was fried - more than likely because of some of the electronic stuff they installed in it.

Did anyone notice that the Challenger in the pic is a CLONE of the one done on Overhaulin?       and before you guys start a debate about it...      yes I know this for a fact.   I worked on that episode and see differences....        the color green is WAY off from the actual hue, there are no rear view mirrors, and the grill was not painted black....              anyway....      James  (the owner of the actual car) has complained about the wheels and tires along with the racing seats....

But....       Chip Foose is a hell of a guy...      shortly after the show (about a year later) James and his wife had a baby and Chip surprised them by doing up a baby seat with the same theme as he did the front seats in....      very classy move in my opinion....

Chip did yell at us (where I work) for swapping a hemi into the Challenger without his permission....       which we did not do....      we did however ask him if we could swap in a stout 440 in place of the 383 if we made it look the same...     we were given his blessing and put a 440 in and took it to the Spring Fling where it won two awards....

The 383 is currently what lives in my Charger....      for another two weeks when the "bigger one" goes in...
