Looking at a 68 Satellite

As the title says I'm looking at a 68 Satellite ;D but it's in real rough shape  :'(  It's got no gauge's, no seats, no motor or transmission, and it's got a few rust issues in the rear quarters but that seems to be all. I'm not sure if it'd be a good candidate for a custom built satellite with like racing seats and a big block 383. Panel alinement is pretty bad. I have ralleye wheels I could put on it and a 318 already rebuilt but it needs a tranny. I'm sure I could find seats somewhere. There like 30 bucks each from the local wrecker. Opinions?

Here's basically what'd I shoot for, for a somewhat completed driver

blackcharger

I like it. make a nice small block driver.

rt green

thats a sport satellite/gtx grille. to bad its wrecked. if the price was right, would make a nice street strip car

bro, that car needs alot. it could be a nice ride but it;s gonna take alot of cash and time. after evrything it's not a big money car. when i look at a project car, i try to get it as complete as possible. then at least you have the parts already to work with . i'm not trying to rain on your parade. i'm building a roadrunner clone out of a satellite myself  but i started with a complete car. good luck with your decision. :iagree:  Pass on it unless they are giving it away for $100.  But it will still cost a lot of time* and money to find the missing stuff.  *and Time is worth a lot of money as i have found out in the past 2 years by doing the same thing as this with my 68.

lol i think i'll forget that idea the guy wants 2500 cdn for the car lol way to much for a car with no drivetrain or interior

Mean 318

Up north we all start with cars like that, but 2500 is NUTS!!! I couldnt see more than 800... maybe more like 500! thats too bad! :'(

don't give up , you'll find a good project,  if your patient and have some bucks. Rene

Well I have my 68 Dart but I'm hoping to do some heavy modifications to it. like I mean 4 link rear, with a built 8 3/4 with sure grip, a built 383 maybe turbocharged/supercharged, with a 5 speed, and a RMS front suspension  :icon_smile_big: but that'll cost a lotta money $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :icon_smile_dead:

the guy has a pretty nice 74 Sebring for 900 bucks with a complete interior and all I'd have to do is drop in my 318 and a new steering wheel/shifter handle with a couple of the normal upgrades but I dunno. I'd like to find something nice. I am getting tired of driving trucks. Thats all I've ever driven other then uncomfortable small cars. I learned to drive in a 2005 Toyota Echo(way, way, way to small for a guy whos 6'3" I had the seat all the way back and the steering wheel all the way up and I could hardly move), I've driven a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire(gf's car, never again will I drive a tiny car 7 1/2 hours ever again), and the most comfortable car I've driven a 1989 Dodge Daytona(again small but I bumped my head on the roof and that was it) I NEED A MUSCLE CAR  :icon_smile_sad:
