Lost track of 69 daytona

Its a original Y2 yellow car XX29L9B381533.But used to be painted Petty blue .It was owned by a local area Thomas Hayden he got it in 1974 .He passed away some years back.Wonder if anyone remembers this car .Or if its outhere somewhere.Cant recall the year of the ad I saw in the local paper .Asking price was $36K

To answer your question. Theres a Y2 Daytona here that used to be blue. Car was in Federal Way,Washington about 22 or so years ago that is here now in Alaska. Don't know much more info. other than that right now. I do know the current owners name, but I'm not sure how he'd feel if I posted info. about him. He might be a member here as well, just not sure what he goes by online here.

Tom Hayden's car is in Texas.   HemiGeno was passed along the build sheet for this car, and it was forwarded to the current owner earlier this year.

Yeah, that's how the whole sordid tale went.  Pretty neat, though, to play a small role in making two Daytona owners very happy.  More credit goes to other people than myself (like Doug Schellinger).

Hayden's Petty Blue Daytona was one of the nicest cars of the period when we first saw it in 1977.   He towed it to Ann Arbor on a matching trailer for the meet.  Not many folks towed their cars in those days.  Won his class as I recall.

I can only remember one other car being towed to shows when I was younger that was a wing car. And it was a Petty Blue HEMI Superbird, however it was towed by a 6 pac Superbird to shows

Just out of curiousity Gene but do you still have a copy of the broadcast sheet to the Q5 car? I don't remember if I ever looked at it or not, but if I'm right the car was radio delete wasn't it?

Yep, I made a few photos of the sheet before I passed it along.  There is a seat spring rust mark right across the Radio code block, but you can faintly see the "11" in that block - and I'm 100% certain it's not blank.  I had also written the code down as R11 on my spreadsheet too back then - I'm sure that's what it said.

I have a photo of the fender tag to that car around here somewhere. I'll see if it has a R11 on it or not.

Now isn't the last photo the car that was owned by Pete haldiman? Which I believe he sold the Hemi 500 to my dad and then shortly thereafter got the HEMI Daytona? Which was a factory F8 car wasn't it?

The first time I saw that car in Hot Rod magazine ( 1978 ? ) I knew I had to have one.If I ever have another one I will paint it JUST LIKE THAT.
