No...Plymouth only color in '69. You could get a Daytona in V2-Hemi orange.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

Do you have any more pictures taken from different angles and maybe in various sun angles ? There was a daytona posted on page 15 a while back and the color was vit-c #2201 . The picture was taken inside under bright lights and it looks awesome !

69_500

Tim Wellborn owns a Daytona in the special order code 999 orange color from Dave's paint chart.  I don't think the restoration is done yet, so no pics.  That is the only one we know of right now.

That '69 special-order orange (999) isn't considered Vitamin C though, is it?

From what I have seen on the charts, the closest color to the '69 999 Orange is what they used to put on Dodge Trucks from back in the early/mid '60s, which they called Omaha Orange.  Chevy had about the same color under the same name for a number of years too.  Isn't it the same color they used on the Bengal Chargers??  It definitely isn't Hemi Orange, and I didn't think it was Go Mango (Vitamin C).

That has got to be one very rare Daytona, for sure.

There is a post on page 15 under a color has been picked and that color is smokin under lights !

I agree.    I don't know that code 999 is the same as Vitramin C.    I don't remember all the details, but Tim stumbled onto that orange Daytona locally.   The car found him.    He really has some cool stuff.

I think Danny (69_500) has seen that car, and it's a 999 (or 99)  paint code.  Again, that is not Vitamin C (or Go Mango), despite what is printed in the article.  Awesome looking car - thanks for digging up and posting the pictures, Dave.

That same article says that the window plug was fiberglass..  :eyes:

According to the article the Glenn lived  in Lansing Mi. a friend told him about seeing the car at Chrysler proving grounds in Chelsea. It was built for  but never delivered to a Nascar racer.

Do you have the full information on the 500 from the article? I saw the car years ago, and just remember that it was a 999 paint code. However I don't have the fender tag info now, I have either lost it is misplaced it over the years. That and I don't even know the full VIN to the car so it isn't included in the number of 231 cars that I know of. Also which magazine is the print out of the color breakdown from? Do you know? I have a break down from a magazine like that about the Daytona's but hadn't seen one for 500's.
