I know this has been posted here a lot, but I can't find 74 info. I currently have a stock 318, 727 tranny and a 26" radiator in the car. So far I know I need an engine, tranny, mounts, K-Thing, distributor, and maybe make the driveshaft shorter.  I would like to fit a 440 in the car, 1974 Charger SE

K member is different, but you can go with engine mount adaptors on schumachers website:
http://www.engine-swaps.com/

as far that, also need modfy engine wiring ( enlarge coil and dist wires ). exhaust pipes. Depends about how complete is the 440, need accessories brackets. Also depends of engine year and/or water pump housing, will need to pay attention on the right radiator. 72 and earliers 440 have water pump housing outlet on driver side and 73 and laters on passenger side. That change also engine accesories brackest locations too.

and...

you need a different driveshaft or cut yours down 4 1/8" to fit (727 is longer than a 904)

advise you on getting an 8 3/4 rearend if you do not already have one.

I still have to make it shorter even though it has a 727 in it now?

as Far I know, no, since tranny is the same, but yes if you upgrade the axle. I think RD pass over the detail you already mentioned to have 727 thinking with 318 you had 904 by default. Is not common to have 904/727 combo... not rare, just not common.
