As some of you may remember, my late father Jack Fiske was a sports writer for nearly 50 years but his specialty was Boxing.
I was just wondereing if any of you Motorheads are into the "Sweet Science".

I boxed for the last couple of years at Freddie Roach's Wild Card Club in Hollywood.  Now that I'm up in Minnesota, I'm not boxing anymore.

I was a latecomer to the game and never good enough to make anything out of it, but I had a wicked right cross.

It would be nice if there were less champions/weight classes.Full time job trying to keep track of all the champions. The heavyweight division alone has 3-5 people claiming they are the champ with different belts.

I've done some kick boxing here a few years back at a Karate class that I quit cause the cost per month got to be to high. I'm now just a reg. Martial Arts kinda' guy.....My dad also boxed in the Golden Gloves during WWII. If I can, I'll post some photos of him as well. We went rounds ourselves once, man, did I learn my leason that day!

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

Used to be, back in the glory days....

Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton

Hell, Jerry Quarry could rule the supposed "contenders" out there these days.

Lowprofile

I Gave up on Boxing after they ripped off Marvin Hagler. IMHO  :icon_smile_big: His fights with the "Hitman" and Duran were legandary.  Is there anyone in the game these days of this caliber?
I also used to be a big fan of Vinny Paz....[hometown boy!]  It's a damn shame about Tommy Morrison......he could have been a great Champion.  :rotz:

I have met the hometown boy, Ray "Boom-Boom" Mancini a few times.

Sadly, he was never the same after the Duk Koo Kim fight.

Actually, it was Mario Lopez - he was Slater.  And he's actually a very good fighter: http://www.fightbeat.com/article_detail.php?AT=189

Anyway, at various times, I've run into Vernon Forrest, Manny Pacquiao, James Toney, Kingsley Ikeke, Lamon Brewster, Sergio Mora, and Sugar Shane Mosley.

By the way, Vernon Forrest is a badass, James Toney is a fatass, and King Ikeke is a super-nice dude.
