Took my car out for one of the last rides of the season and noticed some black "fuzz" on the trunk

Picked a piece off and it felt rubbery/gooey.......went back into the garage & looked above where the trunk would have been and didnt see anything unusual.

Went back out to the car and looked down at the rear quarters.......this is what I saw......free undercoating!

Further evidence of my horrendous traction problem at the track on Tuesday night ;)

Now I know why a lot of guys put some layers of blue painters tape on their lower quarters.....that stuff it a beoytch to come off!!

THE CHARGER PUNK

haha , what can you use 2 get it off?

I think I used WD 40 to remove road tar once before. When I drove belly dumps we spayed diesel in the beds to help keep the asphalt :-\ from sticking to the bed.

I just used some Zaino spray and flicked most of it off.....no harm to the paint :)

Charger Aficionado

I used to use WD40 for sticky stuff, but I ruined a windsheild once w/ it...  My GF's mom's windshield that was all sticky.  (Never heard the last of that)...

Hope you have that same undercoat on the left side lower quarter panel.  Or is your traction problem due to that peg leg diff?? lol

Just 6T9 CHGR

It is a Sure-Grip but it is a bit worn....there seemed to be more coating on the right than the left ;)

I thought Vaseline was the stuff to use and I am sure you carry that with you. :icon_smile_big:

Just purchase some "bug and tar remover" from shucks. That should get that stuff off.

Pam cooking spray works. spray it on the 1/4 before you go to the track, then at the end just wipe it off at the end. works good.

Shakey

Heat it up really good with a torch and simply wipe it off with a wet paper towel!   :yesnod:

What kind of times did you end up running?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

JimShine

I discovered I hit a wet paint line in the road with mine. It has the refective paint splashed along the passenger side fender. I am real happy with that.

Cool !  :icon_smile_cool: Nice video Chris...hard to see smoke (dark out) but you could sure hear a lot of squealing going on...no wonder those quarters are "undercoated"  :icon_smile_big:

I agree with Moparguy....Pam cooking spray works great.  ;)

I'd fire the guy that put that on for you. ;) He apparently does not understand the "under" part of the word undercoating. :icon_smile_big:
