the wing was left at my neighbors house. so i tied a string to my dolly, wheeled it over there, and pulled the three wing parts home. my wife said i looked like a little kid, pulling my red wagon with a big smile on my face.  :laugh:

I just took my superbee up to the storage building and brought my charger home to start the daytona transformation. It's going to be a slow process with all of the other projects going on, but at least I've got it home now.
It's the closest pic I could find of a daytona clone.  ;D

All I need now is a pic of the back of someone's vega plug cut and ready to install.

I sold both of my 63 belvederes today, so I have a little cash to order some parts now.  Too bad that I have to wait so long to get some of the parts. I think I'll concentrate on the back glass and the trunk lid. I'll order the trunk finisher piece, trunk hinges, fender scoops, wing washers and wing gaskets.
Oh yeah, almost forgot...I'm guessing that the old rear glass channel has to be removed so that the package tray lies flat. Right?

Wrong! Just remove the rear window glass and trim, Mig up the Vinyl top trim holes and you're good to go...If you look closely at the rear headliner of a "Real" Daytona or a 500, the original window opening is visible as a ridge in the headliner and the package tray protrudes thorough the original window opening and lays out onto the original dutchman panel...

It's better than trying to clean the front window of one of those GM slope nosed minivans from a few years ago.  At least you have pride in the Mopar.

I had never noticed that. I always assumed that the channel had to be removed. That makes me feel a lot better about using this R/T SE car. Changing it back later wouldn't be that difficult, not that I plan to.  But I could, but I won't. I'm gathering a little more info all of the time.
I need to find a pic of a clone now to post to make up for hijacking this thread.

  you better ask Dane for a pic of the rear of the vega plug with the material removed. i removed very little material from the back of the plug. like that it keeps its structural strength. i notched the sail panels to get mine in. Rene

I'm not trying to change the topic, but since I'm working on a Daytona replica (clone) I put some pictures up of those strange mouldings I got with the rear window plug. Unfortunately they're buried in the body & paint forum. Anyone recognize these as Vega Mouldings? I have them laid out on top of the plug to show the difference in shape.
