got my air grabber hood back today!

got my air grabber hood back from acid dipping, it was not as bad as I thought on spot on the very front top and several along the top by the windshield.  the underside is verry good.  How long can I leave it bare with out surface rust starting?  I dropped the two fenders and front and rear vallance off today.  They won't be ready for about 3 weeks.  will it wait that long?

The hood started rusting as soon as it was taken out of the acid. It might not noticibly rust for 3 weeks if kept in a nice dry place. I would primer it at least.

Allen, I got my '70 hood and fenders for my Daytona clone dipped by Dale in June of '05. They've been sitting in my garage ever since. They look just like the day I brought them home. Dale puts a phosphate solution on his parts to prevent rust. Keep your Dale-dipped parts dry and they'll be just fine for a long time.

Thanks, Dale doesn't get in any hurry but he does a good job and works real reasonable price wise.  I dropped both valances and fenders off, he said around 3 weeks.  He said 2 weeks on the hood and it was 3 weeks, so I guess I will be getting my parts in about a month.

Where in the Midwest can you get parts Dipped   We use sand/bead Blasting here.

Milstadt IL.  Near StLouis MO.  The guy is there between noon and 2pm on weekdays and 9am till noon on weekends.  He charged me $40 to do my hood.  I diddn't even ask how much for the other parts he is a real nice guy and does good work.  His phone # is 618 476-3500 The place is called ACP metal cleaning
