According to the VIN, it MUST be a very early C500 that still had "XS" instead of "XX". My C500 is a Dec. car and she has "XX" on the VIN.. Also, it's a 440 car according to the VIN as you all know.. So, I'm puzzled why he makes reference to the car having it's original 2x4 Hemi..

scam......how can you have a car like that and not know the history and at least some of the facts.....especially if you are about to sell it.

1 At this point based on the Vin it is questionable if it is even a 500
2 Vin states 440 he claims original Hemi
3 He claims only 30 where made which makes all him an idiot, a Chevy guy or most likely both.

At best you will be dealing with someone very un-knowledgeable and dishonest.

Cant be a hemi car with L vin .Unless you standing on your head looking through the windshield  and it appers to be a J.I will look and see if I can find any info on that car .Our cars and there worth seem to bring out the scammers.When my car was on ebay and the reserve was not met.A person I met and found out later was one of the biddersbidders at the end of the auction .He told me he was offered my car less the reserve.And the guy wanted a deposit.He is suppose to have saved me this email correspondance .So ebay can become aware of these scammer issues

Though this is another silver 69 500  My friends old car was A Y4 gold later it became silver.Is not this car as the firewall is not one of a air conditioned car.And the other silver 500 has the AC firewall thats the 157499 car

The add smells fishy to me. I'm checking my photo's but its appears that the car in all the photo's is really car XX29J9B248661. That is my guess anyways. The engine shot is what makes me think so, that and the rims on the car.

I sent him a response in the "Ask The Seller a Question"  I asked if he would email me a photo of the VIN tag  AND  the Fender tag because there seemed to be conflicting information.   Let's just see if he responds.   But a big fat ZERO  for feedback?.......Doesn't sound too legit to me.   I have a friend who may be interested in this car.   (Not me.....I'm not a big fan of that front grille)   I'll keep everybody posted as to if he emails me back or not........Ace

ah this is silver c500 number 2 , the 1st one with the 528 mill has the crunch and this one has cragars was was featured in i think mopar action in the readers rides for having 4 discs brakes and a silver hemi motor, also it was stated in the ad in mag as a 440 car-MATT

I dunno...it seems to me the seller would have posted that  along with promo pictures of the car in the mag.   Plus......he doesn't seem to know jack about this car anyway........I guess we will see.

The guy emailed me back.....I requested a photo of the VIN number  and a photo of the fender tag(s)   but he did not include this in his reply.   I emailed him back  stating before any kind of transaction could happen...I NEED to see these things.  I also asked for a photo of the stamping on the radiator support.   I dunno....he never answered my requests..so.....it'll all come out in the wash.   I'll keep you updated.

Well.....I see that it has been removed from the auction block....imagine that.    I guess my inquiries paid off....some people's children!!!

I was correct on what car was in the photo's but the auction was a scam. The car is a true HEMI 500, which is also the 2nd to the last HEMI 500 built. The auctin however was a fake. I talked to the real owner of the car last night for over an hour on the phone.

He didn't seem too shocked. He has a broker that has begged to try to sell the car for him. He let him take some photo's, but doesn't want to sell. Those are the photo's the broker had taken, and posted on a website trying to sell the car, some months back.
