'69 Charger Project Update: Painting Stage Continues!!

Well, it's been a while since my last update on my project '69, but I've managed to get a little more paint work done. Namely, the engine compartment, door jambs & pillars, trunk gutter, & the inside of the deck lid. I also painted the bolts & hardware for these parts. The fenders were also edged out, but I don't have pics at this time.
Similar to my last post, this was done outside along the side of my house, which luckily is secluded from my neighbors.     The last batch of painting was done with Omni single stage urethane for the more hidden areas: floorpans, trunk inside, front fenderwell aprons, etc. It was a cheaper way to paint large hidden areas that are mostly covered, or under shadows. For the more highly visible areas (door jambs, engine compartment, etc), I'm using the same paint as the exterior, PPG's DBU basecoat & Concept Clears.

Special Thanks to 69OUR/TEA (Paul), who advised me on some of the latest PPG paint products, as it's been awhile since I sprayed PPG. I used PPG's Concept 2042 clear. It laid out nice, & dried fast, which was good since it was sprayed outside. 3 coats of base was all that was needed, & I gave it 2 coats of clear as per the tech sheets. These areas turned out great!

Here are some more pictures of the engine compartment. The color difference between the Omni single stage & the PPG DBU base/clear is visible in these pics. I'm not that worried about it, since this will mostly be hidden by shadows. In the bright sun, the PPG Sublime is blinding! The car is getting a white interior, I also painted the insides of the doors white.
Thanks to 69OUR/TEA, I have a new favorite clear! The PPG Concept 2042 is awesome stuff!       

I'll be dropping the front suspension after the rest of the car is painted for rebuilding & detailing. I left it in because I still need to keep this car movable.

Hopefully I'll get the inside of the hood & hinges done over the next week & get the sheetmetal bolted on the car. I'll then concentrate on the final blocking & painting the outside.
