Does anyone know about Motor Var?

Hey guys this is way off that wall but does anyone know of a company called Motor Var?  They seem to have a symbol that looks like AHP or AP.  The reason I ask is I need info about a gearbox that probably came out of a golf cart.  It has the markings I described on it and it also says it is made in Italy.  I spent several hours of searching and didn't find anything.  HELP!
