It's a shame, really.  I truly believe the 2nd gen is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed, but it's so unstable as the speed picks up...

Hmmmm....I can remember a black 68 charger than ran 180mph and it looked pretty much in street trim with off the shelf type of parts in Hot Rod many years ago. I wonder how they cured the lift. I will have to look for the article.

my car lifts pretty bad at 110 mph..  steering gets really light and the car starts to feel like it's floating along... i suspect having the right stance "down in front" would help alot,.. other then that, a front spoiler would have to help alot but the only car i seen running one of those is NYC Mille's...
anyone else try any mods?..
or maybe one of the '69 50 owners can chime in..
I bet Highbank's is a dream over a 100...

Yeah, the guy I bought my Charger from told me that they would lift at around 115 mph. He said that he almost lost it with the '69 he had in high school because of that.

true true...    when i had the 318 and the 2.76 gears it got scary around 125-130...      i would NEVER do that again...

My 69 500 tops out at 123 with no lift, My Daytona is good to warp six. :icon_smile_big:  Jay.

In my '69, the odd thing I felt was it seemed like the car was getting pressed closer to the ground at around 80. This is ofcourse driving in a straight line.

I remember the car. They had a handmade grill that was pulled out to the very front (kinda lke a 69 500). It also had covers over the drip rails like a 500. I forget how they solved the rear window problem though.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

As in everything, it is all about how you drive it.   :P
