Has anyone done business with Greenleaf Auto?

I used to have a handle on life....but it broke off.

Are you talking Greenleaf Auto as in the chain of salvage yards once owned by Ford?

Crazy440

That's the one.  I'm in need of a tranny for my wifes 94 Merc GM and they have one for $639, that includes shipping.  With 11,000 mile on it.  Wandering if they are reputable.

Many moons ago, Ford decided to try their hand at the auto recycling business, so they started buying up salvage yards across the continent.  I know they unloaded their Canadian operations a few years back but I am not sure if they kept the US operations.  I would guess with all of the bleeding, they probably unloaded them and now Greenleaf is independently run.

Can't comment on their reputation now, but I would think they have a lot more to lose than some hole-in-the-wall salvage yard that has a more economical price on the transmission should you end up with a lemon and start making waves about the service you received.  Check their warranty policy.  I would think they would be a better bet, but remember, you are buying a used part.

Green Leaf Auto??? Sounds like some business being done in the deep woods South with a water bong sitting beside a bench seat in the lobby, and a Saint brnard named Cujo  guarding the salvage yard!  Never heard of them.. oh don't forget the ditch weed by the front gate as you drive in..help your self and pull up a bench seat when you come in to order some parts!! :icon_smile_evil: :flame:
