Who all is running the 440 performer rpm heads and do they really ad 50hp over 906 heads? Can someone post pics of the heads and pics from the side view with the spark plugs?also will hp manifolds work with these heads ?

Rolling_Thunder

HP manifolds will fit....         and yes they do add some power over 906's...      here's the best pic I got at the moment

2013 Dodge Challenger R/T - 5.7L Hemi / 6-speed / 3.73 Limited Slip

Awesome motor.  Even the oil filter matches the block!  Although, I thought that 'eddy heads had angled spark plug holes?

They'll work with HP manifolds but a couple of plugs will get real close.  A better bet would be the Mopar Performance version of the Edelbrock head since the MP version uses straight plugs.  They are the same head, Edelbrock makes them for MP.

The Eddy heads easily add 50hp over 906 heads.  I've seen as much as 100 hp increase on the dyno after a head swap but 50 hp is probably more typical.

We run the frams for break in only...   u know to get all the assembly lube and stuff into a filter...    then goes on the nice K&N filter...

Mopar Performance offers the same head as  Edelbrock ? I didn´t know that.
Is this Mopar Performance part#  P4876311 ?

Roling thunder,
Quick question, Is that a stock Valve cover?

I was not aware that the stock valve covers fit with RPM Heads/aftermarket roller rockers?  ???
THE REAL FAST AND THE REAL FURIOUS

Rolling_Thunder

Those are not stock covers...    they are mopar performance finned valve covers that have had the "mopar performance" milled off to a flat pad and have been powdercoated gloss block...        This is not the engine for my car...   It is what I built for the Silver 69 Charger that is in the shop currently.

the advantage over stock is the fact that it is re-usable....              mancini sells them for $49.95-$64.95 depending on application.  they also do not contact the intake port area on the heads...     the two piece version can be removed without removing the heads as well...    thicker intake manifold gaskets will need to be used but otherwise it is very similar to stock.

Will all the stock stuff like intake, push rods, valve covers and stock valley pan work with the rpm heads?

Felpro # 1009 will work fine with the RPM heads. This is a .040 compressed thickness head gasket.

The 496 has Edelbrock RPM heads and stock valve covers.

I vote cometics also.  More money, but better durability, and various thickness' gaskets to help dial in the compression ratio you are after.

I'm using the Fel Pro 1009, did not realize cometics were an option when the 496 was built.

Fwiw, i've read about sealing issues with Cometic gaskets. Some have had leak problems and the issue is the machined finish on the deck surface. Contact Cometic or a distributor for clarification before purchasing or you could be disappointed.  :Twocents:

Edelbrock told me that you need to re torque the heads after start up and cool down, also they said you haft to run adjustable rockers if you use any aftermarket cam.So i decided not to run the heads.

The rocker arm requirement is based on the cam selection. Solid cams allways require an adjustable valvetrain. Hydraulic cams up to .520 lift are fine with the factory rocker arm. Lots of people use oem rocker arms on eddy's w/o issue. The head re-torque wouldn't hurt but it's not necessary if the heads were properly torqued during installation.

I have a policy of always re-torquing the heads...      and surprisingly after an engine has gone through some 90 minutes of running...    the torquing does make a difference....

01 mopar. I wouldn't let a re torque and a valve train contraversy keep you from the Eddies. You will possitively go nuts over them and never run anything else. Put them on and never look back....Well, maybe at the car you toasted but you know what I mean..lol
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.
