Whats the best setup for a bone-stock "67 440? I would like to have something that won't require a lot of mods  to the wiring yet would be reliable. This car is a street only car.
                                          Thanks    Dan ???

there are a few electronic conversions that slip right under the dist cap, thats what i would do,if you dont want to change the wiring

I have a Perlux on it now, but the dist. itself is pretty far gone, and needs replacing. I'm looking for a complete system. Thanks, Dan

:iagree:  Just cause you motor is "stock" does not mean a great ignition system will not help.  Go pop the hood on any new car and you see it has 1 coil to fire 1 or 2 spark plugs. Here we are trying to get by with 1 coil for all 8 spark plugs, so it better be darn good or you just be wasting gas. A too powerfull spark will not hurt the motor, might wear the plugs out a little faster and cost more, but too weak of a spark will send unburn gas in the motor, give you a rough idle, maybe a hard start problem. I rather have too much spark than too little.

The Mopar Performance is no slouch either

Runner

the nice thing about a mopar performance type box like a chrome box is, they are easy to change a available anywere if your in a jam.     i have a mallory hifire 685 box on my roadrunner. it rreplaced a chrome box. aside from a slight idle emprovment it made no diferance what so ever. it ran the exact same et and trap speed as the chrome box. however i needed a rev limiter so i opted for the mallory box.  all my other mopars have a stockish style electronic ignition of some sort that ive tweeked.

This has been my experience as well abosulty No difference in power or trap speeds etc over a properly functioning & tuned ign system going to MSD Mallory , Crane ETc , the adavantage is the rev limiter
