unfortunetly are mass media contributes to this type behavior.  These nuts see it on TV and say, " hey this other nut sure got some attention, I can do that" We should really limit coverage very little pictures just a brief story, but that won't sell air time.  We all want to get a good look at the plane crash, car wreck, mutilated body and yes even the slane school kid.  It makes me a bit nervouse every time this stuff happens because I teach high school kids with behavior problems and they all have a TV.

IMO I think it's a simple situation of people unable to deal with their problems in a positive way. They're a bunch of red-faced, angry fools who don't understand the concept of forgiving and moving on and/or dealing with the people who have screwed them over. So they smolder for years until they snap and do crap like this.

As I look back it was a lot more fun than going to work paying bills and raising kids.

i don't buy that the asshole "snapped" he obviously nursed this supposed "grudge" for a while and had the malicious plan in the works for nearly a week if not longer,...

so perhaps it was a different kind of greed, called "lust".  maybe a need to dominate.. a quest for power or a death by Cop,..
or all of the above...

i dunno i'm not a criminal physiologist...

I headr about it on the local news Tuesday I think it was. It was also on CNN. Other than that they realy didnt say much about it except they were going to protest the funerals and that the towns people were threating to kill them if they do.

Dwight Lefever, a Roberts family spokesman, said an Amish neighbor comforted the Roberts family hours after the shooting and extended forgiveness to them. Among Roberts' survivors are his wife and three children.

"I hope they stay around here and they'll have a lot of friends and a lot of support," said Daniel Esh, a 57-year-old Amish artist and woodworker whose three grandnephews were inside the school during the attack.

Roberts' relatives may even receive money from a fund established to help victims and their families, said Kevin King, executive director of Mennonite Disaster services, an agency managing the donations.
