That's a nice find keep on it...You will be able to sooner or later...!!
Car's got a lot of pickup. It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?

Ghoste

BY the seat condition, it looks like someone was definitely getting some use out of it at one time.  Hey Brock, does it have a "V8" emblem on the front fender or is that a cid callout?

Charger_Fan

You don't want that car Strat, it's got bondo in the front fender. :icon_smile_big:

:iagree: We stayed in a beachfront condo a couple times when vacationing in San Diego. The underground parking structure has a barred gate & barred window openings, letting in plenty of sea air. There were a couple cars & a motorcycle there that had been parked there a while, and they all had a nice thick film of grime on them. The bike's chrome was rusting & the exposed aluminum was oxidizing pretty badly. It was only about a 2 year old Honda, too. :rotz:

I remember thinking "I thought things in California didn't rust??"

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Same thing happens in Florida, Top of Fenders & quarters will Rust from the Salt air but the bottom of car nice. If you get a car inland away from the ocean salt air they will last longer. Try the Mojave Desert(death valley-120 degrees) or Pheonix for Dryness. LEON.

Hey, I like my 2nd gens as much as anybody but its sad to see ANY Charger sitting there and rotting away when it could be in the hands of someone who would restore it and use it for what its meant to do, DRIVE....

yeah Johnny that's the same one i showed ya' 'n i still go by the garage whee the superbird and the willies are too, still no answer there either...
it says V-8 on the pass side,.. i'm not into it anymore folks, it's past the point i'd want it anymore,.. but i will always remember it in it's new condition when the mags were new and the Burgundy paint was set off by the white int.
Funny thing that the tires still have air in them and the whitewalls and white letters are whiter then the ones on my R/T I just bleached white two weeks ago...
last Reg sticker is year 2000 but i've never seen it anywhere then where it sits...
I suspect the Vietnam scenario is correct,.. that car has a tragic vibe about it...

any first gen guys know?.. '66 or '67?..
i suspect the cars a '67 and a 383,. but i don't know them that well...

nh_mopar_fan

Ghoste

It's a 67.  The turn signal indicators at the front top of the fenders are the giveaway.  The V8 emblem means it's either a 318 or a 383 two barrel for that year.

Brock Samson

i found this in a related vein...  :P
as "art" though, it has merit...  :-\

  Ball David
Lyrics for Song: Riding With Private Malone
Lyrics for Album: Amigo

I was just out of the service thumbing through the classifieds
When an ad that said:"Old Chevy" somehow caught my eye
The lady didn't know the year,or even if it ran
But I had that thousand dollars in my hand

It was way back in the corner of this old ramshackle barn
Thirty years of dust and dirt on that green army tarp
When I pulled the cover off,it took away my breath
What she called a Chevy was a sixty six Corvette

I felt a little guilty as I counted out the bills
But what a thrill I got when I sat behind the wheel
I opened up the glove box and that's when I found the note
The date was nineteen-sixty six and this is what it wrote:

He said,"My name is Private Andrew Malone"
"If you're reading this,then I didn't make it home"
"But for every dream that shattered, another one comes true"
"This car was once a dream of mine, now it belongs to you"
"And though you may take her and make her your own"
"You'll always be riding with Private Malone"

Well it didn't take me long at all,I had her running good
I love to hear those horses thunder underneath her hood
I had her shining lika a diamond and I'd put the rag top down
All the pretty girls would stop and stare as I drove her through town

The buttons on the radio didn't seem to work quite right
But it picked up that oldie show, especially late at night
I'd get the feeling sometimes,if I turned real quick I'd see
A soldier riding shotgun in the seat right next to me

It was a young man named Private Andrew Malone
Who fought for his country and never made it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of his, back when it was new
He told me to take her and make her my own
And I was proud to be riding with Private Malone

One night it was raining hard,I took the curve too fast
I still dont remember much about that fiery crash
Someone said they thought they saw a soldier pull me out
They didn't get his name, but I know without a doubt

It was a young man named Private Andrew Malone
Who fought for his country and never made it home
But for every dream that's shattered, another one comes true
This car was once a dream of his, back when it was new
I know I wouldn't be here if he hadn't tagged along
That night I was riding with Private Malone
Oh,thank God,I was riding with Private Malone

Rusty Old American Dream
from the album How Did You Find Me Here
David Wilcox

I don't look all that ragged for all the time it's been,

But I'm weakened underneath me where my frame is rusted thin.

And this year's state inspection just barely passed

Won't you drive me 'cross the country, boy,

This year could be my last.

I'm a tailfin road locomotive from the days of cheap gasoline,

And I'm for sale by the side of the road going nowhere,

A rusty old American dream.

I rolled off the line in Detroit back in 1958,

Spent three days in the showroom, that's all I had to wait.

I've been good to all who owned me, so have no fear;

C'mon, boy, put your money down and get me out of here!

I'm a tailfin road locomotive from the days of cheap gasoline,

And I'm for sale by the side of the road going nowhere,

A rusty old American dream.

This car needs a young man to own him

One who will polish the chrome,

I will give you the rest of my lifetime,

But don't let me die here alone.

Just jump me some juice to my battery,

Give that old starter a spin,

Hear me whir, sputter, backfire through the carberator,

And roar into life once again.

I'm a tailfin road locomotive,

You can polish my chrome so clean

We can fly off into the sunset together,

A rusty old American dream.

i think the 318 had a 3 spd on the column (could be wrong, don't get excited) so the 4 spd on the floor is at least a big block (and doesn't neccesaryily mean it STILL has the 2 bbl 383 in it), rare headrest option also

and yes, here if you live in one of the foggy areas, the salt air will juste eat up a car. theres a 69 superbee in my nieghborhood that I have watched slowly disintegrate over the last 10 years, used to be a really nice car its now cheese. guy drives it, but he has no garage. hes been slowly ductaping the rust around the windows as it grows. real sad.

Those wheels look like Rockets. You can find a decent Charger that year with nice paint and interior for $10k-$15k. This car is only worth $1500-$2k tops. It's going to need everything.
