it looks this valve is basically the same than the wired one I posted just changing the "head" for a vacuum diagram box. Nipples section ( red ) are the same.

It helps heaps. As I've probably mentioned I first thought my car wasn't meant to have that cannister - so I removed it. I just ran the vacuum tube to an outlet on the rear of my Edelbrock 750. Everything seems to work OK, with the exception that I haven't got a vacuum operated heater valve and have had to simply block off that pipe that would go to it. :-\

Do you think it matters that I've removed the cannister ? What the heck does it actually do anyway ??

Peter

P.S.....thanks again for these pictures, they're the only reference I have for doing my car. No others to look at down here. :icon_smile_big:

Canister IS A VACUUM RESERVOIR to still operate the doors actuator and of course heater valve with engine off.

Well guy, in case anyone is even remotely interested, I just purchasede a 71 heater valve off Ebay.

Here's hoping it makes the trip to beautiful Australia.

I'll have to take a nice pic when she's installed. Yeah, I know.....doesn't take much to keep me happy.
