Not bad for five hours work: an update on the storage shed (for those who care)

I was talking to several people on the old site about storage sheds and we finally got an 8X12 shed built today to the tune of just under $2k. Two young fellers from Tuff Shed showed up and knocked it out in five hours start to finish. It would have taken me a month to do it myself I'm sure. I'm already working 50-60 hrs. a week and had no desire to tackle this task.

Man could I make use of something like that, that shed is a palace!

It will probably take me longer to paint it than it took them to build it.  :rotz:

looks like the guy is shooting the nail gun at wildlife in the first pic.

I miss those days.

I had a friend toss a 16 penny nail from 30 feet up impale a lizard that was laying out in the sun.

we used to do SWAT type stuff back in school with the full face shields and nail guns, fun stuff, no one got hurt though, the nails were too small and would tumble through the air

Do you have any idea what kinda prices tough shed has on garages?  It looks good!  I would love to have something high enough to install a lift.

Nice shed Bull...

Husk, if you are going to build a shop make sure you build it deep enough also. I built a 400 SF. garage with a loft to one side and enough room for a lift on the other.. Zoning would not allow me to build any bigger and I am paying for it now.. I have the room to go up with a typical car but no way could I raise a truck all the way.. Also because I could only go 20 X 20 it is not deep enough for me to be able to do any serious work in front or back of my Dodge without opening the overhead door...

If you can do it, I would suggest 9 or 10 foot tall walls with side gables. At least 24 foot front to back.  Make sure you leave enough room to each side to open doors and have a work bench and plenty of storage..

My dream is at least 30 X 50 with 16 foot peak.. Here in my back yard I wanted to build a 24 front to back, by 20 wide and 9 foot walls. They allowed me to go 20 x 20 with 8 ft. walls...

They called it a SHED but after it was all done the tax guy came by and said it is a 2 car detached garage and they tax the crap out of me for it...

This shop would be great if I had VW's or motorcycles... At least I can keep the Coronet inside and not worry about it..

I'm not sure on the garages. I only looked at their shed prices, but you can check their website at www.tuffshed.com. They have very good warranties, but I'm going to void mine before too long by making part of it a play house for the girls. Yea, I think I'll be tossing a five year warranty once I add a midget door to the end.

Thanks Steve and Bull.  I agree with you Steve but I don't have the room to go that big.

Do you have the room to go maybe 24' deep and 14' wide?? It would look like an RV garage but you would be able to put a lift in it and still be able to work around it too..

I put up a $200.00 canvas garage, (carport), from Sam's Club.. It's great until the weather turns to HLPAG......   >:(

I completely ran out of room so I had a steel building put in.  It is a 20x32 with 10 foot ceilings.  All that is left to do is doors, power, shelving, benches, and then I can put my Charger in to start my restoration.
