68-70 Console Question

I'm new to the 2nd Generation Chargers, so hopefully I don't look like a complete idiot with this question....

I dunno what the heck goes in this thing...



What object/piece goes in that little slot that I have the gold circle around? Or is there nothing there and it is just covered with carpet?

And this is not my console by the way, just had to find one with that little slot.

A screw goes there.

After carpet is installed a chrome tapered phillips head screw goes through the carpet, through that "slot" and into the front console bracket that is welded to the floor.......

Thank you!  I have yet to really examine the inside of my car.  When I bought it, it was already disassembled.  Glad for your help bud

It screws into this bracket, I have not been able to measure it yet...........
