No, that's Kim's car - member here - last426.

Now my question - is his Hemi the last 426 that came off of the line?

Brock Samson

No it's the last year that was offered with a HEMI

I know, that is why I asked if his was actually the last one produced!

BTW - Does anyone know what car the last Hemi came in?  If this is not it.

They pump them out pretty quick. I'm guessing as of my post time, the car rolling off the assembly line with a Hemi is the last one made...until 2 minutes later.  :icon_smile_wink:

Silver - c'mon now!   :RantExplode:

OK, let's try this again!  In 1971, when the 426 Hemi was last offered - what car did the last, as in final production, 426 Hemi end up in?

Anyone, anyone - Bueller?   :D

Shakey

Oh yeah - normally I'd apologize for hijacking the thread but it's only Bart Simpson's thread - so I don't care!   :nutkick:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Now that is a good one. Not only the very last 426, but also the last 426 Charger, GTX, road runner...I'm sure it would be little effort to search sequential VINs with the model letter prefix and 5th column "R". I've never read of the last last hemicars. It must have been done by someone in the rags at sometime. Anyone got a last hemi by body article?

dodgecharger-fan

There is one extremely egregious error with regards to that car that I'm surprised no one has pointed out.

It's not in my garage.  :icon_smile_big:

Beautiful car!

Car's got a lot of pickup. It's got a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say, is it the new Bluesmobile or what?

Nacho-RT74

I asked about that to Kim and his ID is just for last year offered, not becuse last car produced in line with Hemi...

He sent me to home a CD ROM with lots of pics and couple of vids about his car when I asked on board about documentation to make a Biography about Charger and expose when I expose my car... shame HE WAS THE ONLY ONE who I got that kind of nice info

Kevin: This Yr..
Natcho: I said he was a Nice Guy...

The build date of the car is May 3, 1971, so it is towards the end of the year production.  I think there were a few made after it.  I am the second owner, got it in 2000 for 31k from Volo in Il, and have all the paperwork since the guy who first bought it knew that it was the end of an era.  It has around 48,000 miles on it and is B7 blue.  All 71 hemi chargers came with an air grabber and a manual choke (the only year for this type choke).  It has the hemi mufflers and the resonators.  The exhaust tips mount on the end of each resonator without the little hook/latch that other 71 r/t tips have.  It has torque boxes front and rear and a big tranny cooler.  Lastly it has a hemi 727 and a 3.55 8 3/4 posi (or is it limited slip, I always get it wrong) rear end.  I am going to try to be at the Golden Gate Park (Jimmys) car show on Oct. 15, come by and get a cookie.  Kim

Kim, it's referred to in Chrysler jargin of the day as a "Sure-grip".... In today's Mopar World for new cars, it's known as a "limited-slip".......

As usual, gorgeous car... I'm glad you got a better experience from Volo........
