Dude

Hi this is my first post. I saw a 1972 Charger SE on this web site with a 4 speed. Does anybody know of the car? it is green with a white top (72chargerSE is the username) does anyone ever see this car in person?

how many 4 speed charger se's were made that year? it is rare? is it a big block? does that make it rarer? it looks like it has a/c ? it looks like it is restored perfect why would anyone do that to such a mom and pop car

THE CHARGER PUNK

i believe 4-spd were pretty rare in 72, but seriosuly what year of any charger from 66-74 wasnt rare if it had a 4-spd?

TruckDriver

Your talking about this car. But if I remember right, it is not a 4spd. (I dont have all the pics of this car on my computer though either). There is a simular one that is a 4spd, but that one has a bulge hood and I also believe is a 440 car. A 4spd in a '72 SE is exceptionally rare, but not unheard of. And most SEs came with air cond. Why would anyone restore a SE, same reason as any other Charger. I'm restoring mine, but not back to original. Mine will be a hot rod when done.

Dude

That is car. it is 4 speed, i saw it has a bench seat. I saw this car at the detroit autorama picure was taken there

Yes, that car belongs to a good friend of mine and let me tell you it's the NICEST '72 you will find.  The car has been gone through top to bottom. They only made something like 63 of them with the 400 Magnum & 4 speed.  Less than that if you factor in the bench. The car is simply incredible...

As to why he restored such a Mom and Pop car so well... I'm sure he'll tell you soon enough.

Why not restore it?  To be worthy of restoration to some means it must be an R/T, 4 speed or Hemi Car.  When I did my 68 auto on the colum, I had some people actualy ask why don't you find a console car to restore.  It is a #s matching 383 4 barrel with a 727 and open rear and many people told me I had to put sure grip under it?  I think more people should restore 318 and six cars.  There is probably more big block clones than #s 318 and six cylinder cars.

Thanks!

Yes, this car is mine! It is a 4 speed, does have a big block and has A/C. I bought this car from New Mexico in 1997, because it is just like the car my Dad bought new in 72 (only his car was an auto/bucket seat car).

I spent 5 years restoring this car and the reason I resored it to this level is simple... I LOVE THE CAR ;D

Thanks,

Mike

MAN I know that feeling. That is one gorgeous car. Whether some believe it or not, any Charger from 66-74 is money in the bank. The days are coming when the first and third generation cars will be as valuable as the second gen cars.
