So last night it was nice out and i had the front door open for a little bit.  Then later in the evening i noticed the cat making noise on the front porch and circling around my work bag on the floor.  I look down and there is a mouse running around my bag and the cat is just playing with it and smelling it.  I tell the cat to get ready and i'll lift up the bag.  Just then Katy comes walking into the room and i tell her "stop! dont come in here" well ofcourse she wants to see what is going on so i said, the cats playing with a mouse... and ZOOM!  Katy is up on top of the couch in 0.27 seconds...  Hahahah that was funny.. :icon_smile_big:

Anyways, i lift up my bag and the darn cat just looks at it and follows it into the bedroom where it goes under the bed.  I yell to the cat "kill kill!" but it does nothing.  So then we, (the cat and I) look under the bed and i see my gym bag and i grab it and throw it out the front door.  Then proceed to take the bed apart and shake the box spring to see if it crawled into the bed.  but nothing.  so i figured it went down to the basement and there is no chance i'm gonna find it down there.

So i tell Katy that i'm going to the store to get milk and some mousetraps.  she says i'm not going anywhere till i get her the phone, the TV remote, a glass of ice and some 7up.  I get her those things and then head out the front door and i see that gym bag and i thought, i wonder if the little critter is in there, so i shake the bag upside down and sure enough he falls out and wanders off into the grass...

Then i go back into the house to relieve Katy with the good news and as i go back out the cat wants outside, so i opened the door wide and said, see ya later.  Then this morning the cat was meowing at the back door.. So now we have a free cat that is good for sleeping on your head at night and thats about it... ::)

I didn't know there was a cat alive that didn't instinctively kill anything smaller than itself.  Ours even caught a bird flying too low right out of the air once while I was on our deck.   Funny story though...

  lol,.. that's a good one...
reminds me of a call i took at work once...
A couple young girls had just moved to the inner city here,.. (San Francisco) i guess all they could afford was a cheap Apt. in the Mission dist. they were up on the bed screaming into the phone that there were roches crawling everywhere in their Apt...
I don't know exactly what they expected me to do about it,...   ;D

Consider yourself lucky, there are places where people will pay good money for that.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I had 2 cats at one point , neither would kill mice so I no longer have cats

"Free" is still too much to pay for a cat. Give me $500 and I might consider taking it off your hands (and I'd still probably swing by the nearest animal control facility on the way home). :icon_smile_big:

funny story  ,my cat would never kill or eat mice or birds etc, when my cat would catch a bird  she would not bit it in any way ,she would bring it up to me and drop it , wanting me to throw it so she could chase after it.( like a dog with a stick) . because all the birds were not hurt in any way ,& the bird was  just playing dead, i would pick the bird up and  place it on the garage roof , the they would all ways fly away & my cat would run around  meowing going crazy .

I've never paid for a cat. :icon_smile_tongue:
I've also only had one that didn't have an appetite for mice, she would play with them for hours until they died...but at least she didn't let them get away. ;D

The two cats I currently have are awesome mousers...but when they eat them, they don't like the poop schute for some reason( :icon_smile_big:), so in the morning after a good night of heavy mousing, there's all these mouse guts on the front porch. Very pleasant when company comes over. :smilielol:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Come to think of it, I used to have a cat that ate the heads only! Sort of a sadistic one, he was. :icon_smile_evil:

All srping/summer/fall, my driveway is littered with corpses. Mice, moles, birds, squirrels, frogs, you name it.

We have one cat and he wants out every night. I get the "gifts" when I leave in the AM.

He's tried to bring live catch into the house but we know when he has something in his mouth by the sound of his meow when he wants to come in.

He's a pain in the a$$.
