Well, I drove to work and pushed my car as a subject for comparison with the SRT/8, Now originally i was told when i offered they were just gonna use a DCX handout photo...  ???
but yesterday after a consultation between the writer and the photo editor and a photog. they agreed,.. and said they'd meet me in the lot... you'd think it was a no brainer... but these things are done by commitee general lee...  :flame:
here's some pics... I took..

Brock Samson

notice how the fenderline is so much higher on the sedan...
The photographer Eric after walking around both says "they didn't carry over a single line between them", the writer agreed.

Mike the writer Revved up the 6.1 Hemi and it was pretty smooth and a quick revver,.. when the loud pedal was depressed it seemed to me that at first there was the V-8 blurble followed quickly by a zipping sound, but  not loud, the ground didn't shake... It sounded smooth and disarmingly quiet at idle.. a sweet sound when revved but none of the thunder or the fury of mine or as you might expect a "Muscle Car" to make,..
We took a too short drive around the block, with me in the passenger seat, Mike sort'a attempted to get some scratch, but it wasn't happenin,... Reminded me of my spin in the regular R/T Hemi,.. the traction control puts the damper on that fun,.. I don't belive Mike has alot of experiance in burnouts or in this particular car,.. so i'm not gonna bust his balls cause we were in traffic,.. me? I would'a power braked it after waiting for the traffic to clear and get on down the street...
(Can ya' tell I've done this before?..  :icon_smile_wink: )

Mike says,.. "your Kind'a nuts about these cars huh"?

Upon climbing from the '07, I asked him if he wanted a ride in mine,..
he said "No,.. That's o.k."...  :-\
He's the first person to refuse a ride in my car since i bought it in '84.   :shruggy:

I did a "mild" burnout leaving the lot...

Maybe the tiger stripe seat covers scared him, Strato. :shruggy:

:nana:

Love the comparison pix though.

Definitely shows the total lack of similarities between the classic 2nd gen. and its modern iteration.

The same would be said if it were a 1st or 3rd gen. too (so you fellows don't get yer drawers in a wad :D).

Sounds like he needs to be slapped. :slap: Definitely not a car guy. :rotz:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I still say if you compare the lines to the 66 & 67s, there are a lot more design similarities than most people are willing to admit.

True, especially at the start of the 1/4 panels.
when racing deals fall apart.....you go home, like me.

I don't see that personally.  I do it see it very slightly in the silhouette.

Schuler

Most will disagree here, but I'm sure some would agree with me that an srt-8 would look great in the garage next to a '69. They are cool in completely differant ways (other than fun) IMO.

Just give it up. I don't see how the new charger can be considered ugly when you look at all the other large sedans.
