I can think of three  reasons
1. prople would have liked it.
2. there is no market for two doors anymore
3. there would be nothing for there middle aged demographics to buy

Let the beat-ups begin.

I don't think the 06 is a bad car, Its just a shame they called it a Charger. I would never buy one, but if they gave me one, I would drive it. I would just get the windows tinted dark so you guys couldn't see me driving it and make fun of me! :icon_smile_shock:

and for the record I always thought that concept sucked.  Stick 14" wheels on it like a stripped down version would have, and it loses any appeal it had.

:iagree: with the first 29 words of your post, everything that came before "I would drive it" unless I were to drive it to the nearest auction yard (which is less than a mile away). I think the front end is ugly and the rest is just mediocre. If I were given one would sell it if I could and buy a 2003 quad cab Dakota or use the money to restore my real Charger. I think the resale value on the '06 is going drop like a rock. Maybe we should start considering the possibility that DCX will start giving them away once they realize they still have 70% of them still on the car lots. I bet toward the end of the year we'll be seeing some very attractive incentives. Still, they won't be attractive enough.

I agree with you Bull.
It will be interesting to see if the Hip-Hop/Gangsta/Urban  Crowd can pull DCX's ass out of the fire, sales wise. Because they sure missed the boat with their "loyalists" and the NASCAR/ Bubba Redneck demographic. :rotz:

I like the 2 door photochop of the real 06 much better.  The damn grill on this car is hidious.  Too big.  Maybe if it were smaller, less noticable....

No better than what they have now, dam Nazis. First pro a types you could see some of the old Chargers in it. Only thing they got right was the spelling. Even the scrip is wrong. Not a bad looking car but a waste of a great Name.

I didn't know DCX was in trouble? I think their cars and sales rates are doing just fine. I can't give you statistics (but you guys can give me some). I also don't think Chrysler ever gave a damn about their "loyalists". It's always been a "if you don't like it move on" approach to me when it comes to Chrysler.

I agree the name shouldn’t have been used, but seriously, do you really want something showing up at car shows and cruises that looks somewhat similar to your Charger? I see new Mustang GT's at the cruises now, and I thank God DCX didn't try and copycat a legend. I don't know why you guys don't want the same? They built the Charger for 9yrs (IMO), and they can't come close to re-creating it...that's a good thing to me.   :Twocents:

That is weird as I was thinking the same thing today when I walked by a new Mustang on the street. Do we as Charger fans really want a "new" Charger that looks just as good but, outperforms ours in every category, gets better gas mileage, has minimal maintenance, and will sell for less than many of our Classic rides.

I know some of the old GM and Ford muscle gets compared to the newer stuff all the time and it usually doesn't come out on top.

man, another topic about this. Well DCX lost any kind of quality, desire to build nice car for the customer. 06 isnt bad car, but if I had one Id sell it and get something more economical and with aftermarket support
