I am pretty sure this is how I took it apart,can't remember,did'nt take any pics either.Checked on my coronet,and this is how I have them on it also,from the inside where the shocks are going into engine compartment.Doesn't hurt to make sure......

Yes....the nuts are accessible through the access holes on both sides  (nuts go inside the engine compt)
