how well do stock 426 hemi heads flow compared to indy ez heads for a 440
its a toss up for me between building a 440 bored and stroked to 496 cu in with indy ez heads  OR building a stroker out of this 426 hemi but i don't want to change the heads on the hemi so i needed to know how well they flow before i start building anything
???

Which HEMI heads you got, originals ? or repro Cast ? Ported ?

Just my opinion,
You're HEMI heads would be a far better deal for a stroker 500 ".  Not that the 295 cc, or 325 CC INDY EZ isn't a good head, it's just the HEMI's can get that same volume in a much "shorter" port, and larger valve. Also, the HEMI's flow enters "on center", as opposed to the wedges "backside" characteristics.

All heads benefit from some porting,

Just my opinion

the Hemi heads will have better flow & combustion charicteristics than the wedge
