OK I have a new trans/rebuilt OD 833 trans out of a late 80's dodge truck. Ok, so I thought I was have cluch adjustment problems- took care of that. Now it still tuchs gears frome 1-2  and it will grind to down shift. I read an old topic thred and it said not to use a synthitic gear oil, so I just paid $30 for some old school oil. NOW Im a freand told me that all mopar trans came from the factory with ATF fuild even manual!! So whats up? Shoudl I change it again? It is still doing it with the new oil but just a little better. Whats up????

OK, so I drained the old school 75-90w oil, Put in the ATF with mercion it shifted even a little better. I was able to down shift with only a little grinding, and just about the same grinding on the up power shifts. IF I take may time when shifting up to 2nd it doesn't grind. Now what? I'm thinking about rebuilding my Hurst shifter to see if it will help.

The shifter tabs on the trans are diffrent lengths, 1-2 is real short 3-4 is about 1/2in longer. Should the be the same? Could this be my problem??? :icon_smile_dissapprove:

I do Not recommed ATF unless you are running it in cold weather
Mopar had a bad batch of thin syncro rings & didn`t tell anyone , if those were used you need to get a proper set of syncros installed , Brewers & passion have good rings , I can also get them for you if needed
