Man that's starting to look great. Can't wait to see this one together. Was surprised to see you on television today. That's the first time that I've watched that show.
BTW, how are you making the headlamps work?

Hi What was I on? Speed TV? as for the headlights I have no idea how to make them work. I should have got them working before I painted it but maybe it wont be hard? I got a 85 Trans Am in for junk the other day and have been looking at those headlight motors and think they may work good? If I can make some brackets some how?

Good luck , I spent one month engineering and making operational  on my stinger nose ! They are vacuum

hotrod98

Marty, it was called "The Cars of Carlisle", I think or something to that effect. The 4wd GL was behind you. The only time that I've been on national TV was American Sports Cavalcade back in the 80's. Interviewed by Steve Evans at the first event at the Motorplex at Ennis, Tx. Never did get to see the episode, and no one had video recorders back then. Oh, and in the background on Overhaulin' along with a couple of hundred other people at the SEMA show in 2004. ;D

Awesome work Marty. Can't wait to see it together. Looks like your gonna have a white int. in your Bird, very nice choice.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

We studied a 3rd gen gm f-body headlamp motor setup, but couldn't quite figure out how to make it work without a lot of engineering. We're just buying the gto vacuum actuators from Year One and mounting them like the factory did. Larry (daytonalo) had a topic on it a few months back. Should work fine. We'll find out soon.

Look at the 74/76 Imperial and New Yorker. The doors are shaft operated from a central motor but the pivot points where they attach to the door are almost identical to the Superbird including the springs and bushings.

BigBlockSam

your car looks great. hey, i saw you on tv too, pretty cool. go vacuum, it's more forgiving on parts. electric is hard on fiberglass parts. Rene

Tried that , been there . The weight of those doors are not even close to what a fully loaded door on a bird or daytona . I tried the central motor and the shaft would flex and the doors could be easily pulled down . Go back and look at my post on this subject , the 68-69 gto actuators work , look and function as origanal !Call me if you have any questions , Larry @609-315-2230

I made all my parts out of steel except a set of repo doors, so electric should be okay Hate the sleepy eye of vacuum and switches. Heres a pic of the fender scoops I made out of metal also.

Looks great,.. Realy great. You didnt paint that where it sits did you? I mean it looks like you did, but for a garage/home paint job its looks to damn good.

If you did paint it there, did you set up and plastic tarps,.. or bug spray for a couple of days? Im really intrested in your setup prior to the spry if you did indeed paint there.

Looks great nonetheless.

I admire that greatly.. I wish I had the guts to do that myself as well. The work looks incredable as well.
You have to have had past experience doing body work.
THE REAL FAST AND THE REAL FURIOUS

sunroofsuperbird

Self taught body work and paint. its not that hard just time consuming. and I am inpatient. I did work at a body shop when I was 16 after school for 3 months. but all I did was clean up the floor and blow dust around so i quit. Wish I would have stuck it out Who Knows I may have been good.
