Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

At Dukesfest last year, one of the stunt crew guys was giving some 2-wheel "ski" rides like that for a short while in a little cop car.  I went for one.

It's freaky and really cool.  The ground seems REALLY close out your window.  Upon putting the car up the ramp at the beginning, it really feels like he's gonna roll it over right up until the moment the car stops rotating.  (Think of how "off-kilter" it feels when you're in a car and you just put one wheel up onto a curb or something.  Now try to imagine going almost vertical.)  It feels almost surreal that the car doesn't tip all the way over but it stays so far up there.

At the end he brings it down pretty smoothly in the big scheme of things (and I wasn't even on the "up" side).  But it was still a pretty hard "WHUMP!" when the driver side wheels hit the ground.  You really feel each wheel's rubber bumpstop in no uncertain terms.
