Hi everyone,

I have a 69 charger that has had a lot of work done to it for drag racing purposes. some of to the work has removed weight while some has added it. right now the car weighs 3300.lbs. I am curious what the weight of a 69 charger R/T,440,727, 8&3/4 was from the factory. also the weight of other muscle cars. if anybody knows?

Aaron

myk

These kinds of cars were very close if not at 2 tons/4000lbs, I believe.  If you've got yours down to 3300lbs that's REALLY light compared to the original factory weight.

Doesn't the '65 Shelby Cobra 427 weight that much?  And THAT'S light...

Oops! I screwed up. The gvwr 3750 would include the payload weight of 810... so I guess the actual weight is 2940

It's a 2000 rs

my '69 R/T SE 440, 727, 8 3/4,.. came in at exactly 3,800 Lbs.

The information I have read in the past states a 69 Charger wieghed, on average, 3675 dry for shipping.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

Yes, but the (average Charger) is probably a 318 with no goodies and no AC...  Tack on AC or Trac Pac....

I'll stick to my much lighter 65'.....

My 67 came in at just over 3750 with a 383 and automatic and I'm certain the scale was reading a little on the light side.  I'm going to try and get it reweighed soon.

I'm gonna have to weight mine soon. I just have to make sure i'm not standing on the scale. It will add a thousand pounds.
